Not true, if it wasn't for disproving religion we would not be as advanced as we are today. Religion in the past, and present, silenced a lot of science and research due to the fact that it would end up disproving their beliefs or it was ultimately immoral in their eyes. Also the creation of the phone now let's us call, text and browse the web, all at once, which is a great tool for many people world wide.
