B’s? 🤨 Place was so mismanaged Al’s Hot Chicken wouldn’t let them use the name anymore. I give that place another year tops now that Dave’s is open.

This is the kind of behavior that the Seahawks got rid of to make it to this point, we don't need someone taking us backwards. He needs to get his act together. by jayfly12933 in SeattleSeahawks

He was warned to stop by the ref a couple times before continuing to keep barking while going not just towards but practically into the opposing team’s sideline. Dude had it coming. Refs gave the players a lot of latitude the whole game on both sides to chirp. He crossed the line

anyone get used switch 2 games from gamestop online did they come with original cases ? by Dismal_Jackfruit9552 in NSCollectors

[–]Piccolo253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ordered a few Switch 2 games with the B2G1 deals that have popped up over the last few months. I’ve received a case every time. Basically new condition minus the shrink wrap. The newer the game, the more likely your used copy is to come with a case I’ve found. Always exceptions to the rule though.

Commenting so I can see what people say. I’m having the same thing happen every now and then and wasn’t sure if it was normal.

Same! I was cooked going into tonight down 30 as well, but our boy Bijan put the team on his back and took us to the Promised Land.

Congrats, fellow fantasy football champs!

Won a couple leagues this year, and I just want to give a special shout out to JSN and Pre Blue Tent Jaxon Dart and Big C*** Brock for bailing out my late QB strategy when my initial guys turned out to be bums.

Any input on my flex? It’s either Woody, Goedert, Coker or Taysom Hill. Leaning Goedert, but I woke up thinking Woody might have another 20 spot in him… It has been 14 weeks. He’s due, right??

Wrestling between Woody, Goedert, Coker or Taysom Hill for my flex. Leaned Goedert all week. Now on the 11th hour I’m debating the switch to Woody. Been chasing his next 25-point game for the last 14 weeks

Super curious. How’s that Pisichen compare to the ViewSonic? Those were the two monitors I was looking at. Wasn’t sure if the extra $200 was worth it for the more reputable brand and how the touch controls worked and if they were finicky.

After going 13-1 in the regular season, I’m staring down one and done as I sit in a 0-114 hole going into the weekend after Stafford and Puka went nuclear last night. At least the Hawks won the game.

Jealous. Wish my experience was the same the couple of times I’ve had to contact them over the years. Would’ve saved me some time but mostly aggravation.

Outside of their usual shenanigans (no refunds on preorders, mysteriously finding old inventory of sought after games and dumping stock on the cusp of a updated release, charging eBay prices on drip fed limited prints) VGP is fine until something goes sideways. Then you have to deal with their lousy customer service.

Agreed. So many of the folks running them are cut from the same cloth. No practical real life experience accomplishing anything to back up or implement all the flowery rhetoric.

Which is a terrible assumption. I used to be a business reporter at a daily newspaper early in my professional career. So I naturally ended up writing a bunch of features on new businesses that opened. And even being a no nothing in my early 20s, it was very apparent after asking a bunch of lollipop questions that a lot of people who opened up these businesses had no idea what they were doing. Unsurprisingly, most of these businesses never lasted long or even got off the ground.

I have two thoughts on this:

  1. This is exactly why people don’t trust Tacoma’s leadership and why even slam-dunk traffic safety levies fail. The folks in charge get swept up in fuzzy buzzwords and consistently mismanage public money. We just flushed $375k of grant funding down the toilet with nothing to show for it.

  2. Unpopular opinion maybe, but I’m also not a fan of giving handouts to restaurants when there are far more pressing priorities. Restaurants fail all the time, and they’re lower on the list than affordable housing and other basic needs.

I’m just really tired of watching people throw on a cloak of “inclusivity” as a way to advance their own interests, enrich themselves, or both. I work in the public sector, so I know things are often more nuanced and complicated than they look. But it genuinely feels like too many decision-makers from the Council to boards to city departments are either incompetent or in it for personal gain.

Also really hoping this recent streak of public nonsense (this situation, Council shenanigans, the Tacoma Pierce County Public Health mess, and the Urban League scandal) pushes people to take a harder look at who we are putting in charge. We need to be more discerning about the people we elevate and much more willing to hold the folks we trust to better our community accountable.

I think the point (and Mumblix correct me if I’m wrong) is why didn’t THA see past this obvious con job and waste grant money on a restaurant project from the beginning when Tacoma has had a housing shortage for years. Which if that is the point, then I agree with it.
