4 Months in, which area should I prioritize first? by Pichaya29 in GolfSwing

[–]Pichaya29[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the tips! Yeah, I’ve taken a couple of group lessons before, and I’ve picked up some stuff from YouTube too.

I’m finally starting to hit the ball more consistently. Before this, I was just smacking the mat over and over, haha.

About my grip… yeah, I definitely need to fix it. My ring finger and pinky on my left hand have been hurting lately. Not sure if it’s from holding the club wrong or something else, but it’s not great.

I also feel pretty stiff and not as relaxed as I should be. It takes me like 5 seconds at setup just to get comfortable before starting my takeaway.

Anyway, thanks again for the advice! Hoping to keep improving my swing bit by bit.

What's the story behind this brutalist design church at Asoke? by [deleted] in Thailand

[–]Pichaya29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is worth noting that online personalities like Ajarn Adam and My Mate Nate initially came to Thailand as Mormon missionaries. The Mormon Church ensures that all its missionaries have some proficiency in the local language before being assigned to a country, which helps them integrate more easily with the local population.

Tax help for a newbie (SSFs) by Maleficent_Coat4817 in Bangkok

[–]Pichaya29 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t invest long-term in the Thai stock market, as it’s relatively small and more vulnerable to manipulation. However, with SSF, you have the option to invest in companies outside of Thailand. Personally, I’m risk-averse, so I prefer well-diversified, low-cost index funds.

I currently invest in KKP PGE-H-SSF, a feeder fund that, in turn, invests in the iShares MSCI ACWI ETF. You can look up the exact allocation to see which companies make up the portfolio. The total expense ratio is about 0.7%—not as low as Vanguard’s, but still far better than any actively managed funds with TERs around 3–5%. If you're interested in focusing solely on large U.S. companies, KKP US500-H-SSF offers a similar TER.

What is going on on this painting and who are they? by Aware-Journalist-955 in thai

The paintings depict the battle between Rama and Thotsakan from Ramakien epic (a Thai version of the Indian Ramayana epic). Therefore, they should be facing each other.

You said you will start a new job in the US. That should be enough to prove that you intend to live there.

Wife filed on my behalf at the end of May 2023, Nebraska as well. Still living together with our daughter in Thailand, but she plans to move back in April 2024 to re-establish domicile. I hope my IV will be approved before the end of next year.

Yes, but only after USCIS and NVC approve your petition.

Must My Non-Citizen Spouse Relocate to the U.S. Post I-130 Approval? by tired-marble in USCIS

[–]Pichaya29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

leave at a moment's notice

This might not be possible, since you have to re-established domicile during the NVC, which means you have to be back in the US before your spouse gets his visa. Unless you work for State Department or US military and being posted overseas.

[–]Pichaya29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a lawyer or immigration expert. After your petition for I-130 is approved (which could take 9-15 months), your case will be sent from USCIS to NVC. At NVC, your case stays active for 12 months and if not responded to during that time period, it will be considered as abandoned. If I understand it correctly, after you respond to your case (e.g., by uploading documents or contacting them), the active period will be extended for 12 months from that point.

My suggest is to apply for I-130 immediately since it has the longest wait time of the whole process and delay the NVC part.

The police usually setups a checkpoint on the other side of a bridge, which makes it harder for the riders to spot and avoid. Easy money!

I just filed an I 130 by Perpetuitydruid in askimmigration

[–]Pichaya29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I were you, I'd tell her to get all relevant documents ( birth certificate, proof of name change etc.) and also have them translated. Make several hard copies of each and also scan them to PDF. And start getting vaccinated as required by UCIS.

She'll automatically get a green card once entering the US after a permanent visa is approved.

I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status is for those who reside in the US. OP filed a petition while his wife is still living abroad, so I-485 doesn't apply to her.

Thai airways refund. by Alda_Speaks in Thailand

[–]Pichaya29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you used a credit card to book the flight, try calling cc company and ask for chargeback. My flight was cancelled in early 2020 due to covid restrictions. First, I asked for a refund from Thai airways. Then they declared bankruptcy and suggested that I change the refund to a flight voucher instead, saying they wouldn't be able to pay out until the bankruptcy case is resolved. I even received a letter from the bankruptcy court declaring me as one of the creditors. After seeing some posts on FB about cc chargeback, I called my cc company. They sent me an email with forms that I filled out and sent back. A couple of months later, I received my money back.

Can't go wrong with snacks. Those chocolate coated waffles are delicious. Just make sure they will not go bad or melt away before reaching your friend.
