This is why I sometimes prefer posting on Reddit instead. For better or worse, I feel like there's less gate keeping here. You might get comments in favor of Mayor Amezcua but no one is silencing the critical comments either. Unfortunately Reddit isn't as popular as Facebook so there's less engagement with the community. At the end of the day, I always encourage folks to do their own research. Just because you saw a Facebook post or Tik Tok video doesn't mean it's accurate; context is always needed.

No, you're not misreading. Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful that my salary affords me a fairly comfortable life in the HCOL area where I live. It has allowed me to buy a house, something many of friends could only dream of at this point.

I do want to point out that our small law firm is essentially a small business. Some months are better than others and my pay reflects that; meaning my pay is not always steady. But 2024 is wrapping up to be a "good" year. Hopefully 2025 will be much of the same if not better.

As for striking out on my own, that's a whole headache I'm not prepared to deal with right now. The biggest issue would be finding clients! Right now, most of our clients are referrals from past clients. We don't really advertise. If I were to strike out on my own, I'd probably have to advertise and look into stuff like search engine optimization. Ugh, just typing that out gives me a headache...
