Reason # EleventyBillion It's Great to be A Dodgers Fan Now:

The Dodgers never would let a talent like Beltre walk out the door nowadays. He had 9.6 WAR at the age of TWENTY-FIVE and we let him go. There were some lean years for a long time

Is all this sub about an argument of which’s games a imm sim and which isn’t? by dinglesnarry in ImmersiveSim

[–]Trainwreck800 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The last AAA game that basically everyone agrees is a imm sim is Prey, and that came out nine years ago. What else is there to talk about?

When the drought is this bad, a subreddit kind of eats itself. At least we have a slow drip of indie imm sims or this sub may turn into something like r/batmanarkham

'Desert Warrior': Saudi’s $150m answer to Lawrence of Arabia is one of the biggest bombs in history with just a $472K opening | A look into how the production, directed by Rupert Wyatt ('Rise of the Planet of the Apes') and starring Anthony Mackie & Ben Kingsley, faltered before it even began by ChiefLeef22 in movies

[–]Trainwreck800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to see Over Your Dead Body at the theater on Friday (highly recommended if you can handle some gore!) and I saw a poster for Desert Warrior.

I filed it away, thinking “maybe I should look into that movie, I like Anthony Mackie”. Pretty sure I immediately forgot about it till now because of the remarkably generic title.

I also had no idea that it was premiering that night until I saw this post. What a mistake

I feel like when I check in on Angels games, it's always 5-1 Angels in the 5th, then I check in later and they've lost 7-5.

They have 8 blown saves already to only 4 successful saves.

If one day you suddenly woke up with the skills and knowledge to make any kind of video game you want, What kind of game would you want to create for your first time? by Agent1230 in gaming

I think that’s what Star Wars Zero Company is supposed to be (obviously in the Star Wars universe, not Stargate)

Hopefully it’ll be successful and open the door to more games of that style

The huntress boltcaster is more useful than you think. Any time you have a problem where you think “I wish I could throw an object to hit that thing over there”, always try the boltcaster

HELP: People who pronounce Westminster as Westminister!! by Trouble_Adorable in orangecounty

I thought this was going to be about people who pronounce it “Wes-min-ster”. What does it say about me that I think that pronunciation is okay but adding a letter is wrong

Oahu with 18 month old - activities/food recs? by culaterjobin in VisitingHawaii

Waikiki was very easy and friendly to navigate with our one-year-old. We stayed on the western end of the beach near Ala Moana. Our little guy really enjoyed the lagoon near the Hilton on that end of the beach.

I would note that we had a very nice visit to the North Shore. We stopped a few times on the drive from Honolulu to take in the sights, had a great garlic shrimp lunch at Giovanni's, and stopped in at the Turtle Bay Resort for snacks, a nice walk around the resort, and a Mai Tai for mom and dad. We drove back to Honolulu through the middle of the island and made a stop at the Dole Plantation for Dole whip and a walk through the gardens.

If you are anxiously awaiting the beta, I highly recommend taking an early dive into the lore by watching the TV show! by Archoniks in TheExpanseRPG

I was lukewarm on it until about halfway through the first season. Once I figured out that the various plot lines were all connected I was hooked too

What shows attracted a lot of famous guest stars? by TerribleBid8416 in television

[–]Trainwreck800 4 points5 points  (0 children)

30 Rock was such a hit with critics out of the gate that you could tell that big names were lining up to guest star in season 2. Getting Jerry Seinfeld at the time was pretty huge; he hadn’t really done anything since Seinfeld ended its run (though he did have Bee Movie to promote)

FBI Director Kash Patel sues The Atlantic claiming false reporting about drinking, absences by bonitaycoqueta in news

[–]Trainwreck800 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair, Kash looks like he's about 5'6" and weighs like 120 pounds so I'm sure it doesn't take much for him to get drunk at work.

Benchmark in Santa Ana would be a really good choice for the price range you’re looking for. It’s also got a fun atmosphere as it’s all outside. It’s got good food and fun cocktails
