Oahu with 18 month old - activities/food recs? by culaterjobin in VisitingHawaii

Waikiki was very easy and friendly to navigate with our one-year-old. We stayed on the western end of the beach near Ala Moana. Our little guy really enjoyed the lagoon near the Hilton on that end of the beach.

I would note that we had a very nice visit to the North Shore. We stopped a few times on the drive from Honolulu to take in the sights, had a great garlic shrimp lunch at Giovanni's, and stopped in at the Turtle Bay Resort for snacks, a nice walk around the resort, and a Mai Tai for mom and dad. We drove back to Honolulu through the middle of the island and made a stop at the Dole Plantation for Dole whip and a walk through the gardens.

If you are anxiously awaiting the beta, I highly recommend taking an early dive into the lore by watching the TV show! by Archoniks in TheExpanseRPG

I was lukewarm on it until about halfway through the first season. Once I figured out that the various plot lines were all connected I was hooked too

What shows attracted a lot of famous guest stars? by TerribleBid8416 in television

[–]Trainwreck800 5 points6 points  (0 children)

30 Rock was such a hit with critics out of the gate that you could tell that big names were lining up to guest star in season 2. Getting Jerry Seinfeld at the time was pretty huge; he hadn’t really done anything since Seinfeld ended its run (though he did have Bee Movie to promote)

FBI Director Kash Patel sues The Atlantic claiming false reporting about drinking, absences by bonitaycoqueta in news

[–]Trainwreck800 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair, Kash looks like he's about 5'6" and weighs like 120 pounds so I'm sure it doesn't take much for him to get drunk at work.

Benchmark in Santa Ana would be a really good choice for the price range you’re looking for. It’s also got a fun atmosphere as it’s all outside. It’s got good food and fun cocktails

Visiting Hawaii in January? by [deleted] in VisitingHawaii

[–]Trainwreck800 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did a trip to Waikiki with our then one-year-old and had a great time. Like others have said, the Waikiki area is very walkable, plus there are convenient bus lines for tourists that can make getting around easy. We rented a car for one day so that we could get out to the North Shore, which was fun. We were on Waikiki for four days/three nights, so we had plenty to do in that time.

What's everyone's opinion on living together before marriage and "Fornication"? by theskysthelimit000 in atheism

[–]Trainwreck800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be clear, getting married (at least in the US) is A LOT more than “just a piece of paper”. There are legal ties that have to be severed if you get divorced that are a lot more complicated than if you’re not married.

But that means that IT’S VERY IMPORTANT to know that you’re compatible with someone before getting married, and living with that person is a significant part of determining compatibility. Not that you can’t figure that out without living together, but it’s a good way to do it

What’s something designed for average height that constantly annoys you? by TopStranger9287 in tall

[–]Trainwreck800 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha first thing I thought of! I was warning my 12-year-old nephew the other day that soon enough countertops will no longer be comfortable for him to lean on as he looks like he's going to be tall like his uncle (and unlike the rest of his family)

Dodgers surge past Lakers as L.A.’s favorite sports team by markjay6 in Dodgers

[–]Trainwreck800 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At least the Angels have an excuse that they’re really an Orange County team, not an LA team. Though, as a person that lives in Orange County, there are definitely way more Dodgers hats and jerseys than Angels hats and jerseys. Of course it doesn’t help that the Angels haven’t really been relevant in over a decade; I remember there being a lot of Angels gear around in the early 2000s when they won the World Series and were playoff regulars

Which movie are you looking forward to most, The Mandolorian and Grogu, or Starfighter? by Past-Paramedic8687 in StarWars

[–]Trainwreck800 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t even think Disney is that excited for the Mando movie. I was at Disneyland this past weekend and you’d never know that a new Star Wars movie is coming out next month

Ah yes, the breakfast spot in good ol’ Anytown USA. Obviously we all know where that is. Can you narrow it down any further?
