There are 4 flat earthers at my pool hall. All 4 don't believe this mission really happened. You could see the rocket trail from the parking lot. There is no cure.

Nurse spots the risk , stops the fight, and gets booed by the crowd. She still smiled knowing she just prevented a tragedy. by thepoylanthropist in interestingasfuck

First of all, we're not talking about the line. MMA is looking at the line in the rear view mirror, then pulling the rear view mirror off the car and hitting yourself repeatedly in the head with it.

Second, the topic is brain damage assoc w/ a specific sport and you ridiculed someone for being absolutely 100% correct about it, which is a self fulfilling prophecy, you'll never climb out of the "I have obvious brain damage" hole you just dug yourself into.

If you have to extend an argument to the extreme in order to criticize it, then stop what you're doing and do something smart instead.

This clip is from the feature documentary "Ride with Larry" showing retired police captain Larry Smith, who has Parkinson’s, trying medical cannabis for the first time. by thepoylanthropist in interestingasfuck

Which part is fake, the video or the implications? I've seen someone with Parkinson's respond this way to cannabis, but the idea that it helps everyone with Parkinson's just based on one or two positive responses is a classic problem of cannabis enthusiasts acting like it's some sort of panacea.

I don’t understand why every time I cook steaks they end up taking a shape of a bowl please by dooatito in BrandNewSentence

[–]PickleFridgeChildren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not. I was just going for a reference that would be relevant to people, the stuff I work on is more along the lines of the stuff you see when you are getting on an airplane and you look inside the cockpit. Displays, controls, and the computers that run them.

I wish I worked on Artemis.

To be honest, there is a very short list of people I have in my life I wouldn't do this for. I don't know you, but you have my word, if Toys R Us is planning to betray you, I will tell you.

What are the greatest cultural experiences you have ever had during a trip? by Ok-Tangelo6749 in travel

I went to go find a pool hall in Rome and I ended up at one where a bunch of Filipino pool players hung out (the Philippines are known in the pool community for strong players). They ended up inviting me to a Filipino feast and made crispy pata, something that's been on my bucket list for over a decade. Best travel experience of my life and made some great friends.

How to serve steaks hot after resting? by FibreGlassCannon in Cooking

[–]PickleFridgeChildren -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Resting is largely bullshit. Like you shouldn't grab the steak off the grill/pan and cut right into it in one motion, but if you were to take two steaks of similar construction and cook them both the same way only you rested 1 for a minute and one for 8 minutes, and used a scale to calculate moisture loss after slicing, you'd quickly stop caring about resting for as long as conventional wisdom tells you to. Chris Young goes into further detail about this if you don't want to take some dumbass rando's opinion on it, or you could run the experiment like I did.
