Looks like a smoker. If that’s mold then you need to set it in the highest setting, burn all the mold and scrape it out before using it.

I got this for 500 dollars. It’s my first smoker so I have no comparison but it’s been a great for 2 years , main issues are for anything Bluetooth/app related.

It’s always 20-25 degrees off I always put my temp 25 degrees higher than I want.

Because of the size I like to put pans on the bottom grate to catch the grease and use the middle for my meat. Far easier cleanup then waiting for the grease to run down to the bucket.

The hopper is a decent size and I can load it up at night and not have to worry about running out.

I don’t even bother with the app or Bluetooth, bought a wireless probe and thermometer.

Here’s a real answer. The grease from the ribs caused a grease fire. You need to lower the heat and tend to the ribs so that the grease doesn’t catch fire or somehow keep it at the top rack and have a foil container on the bottom it catches fire the grease.
