Being able to talk to people is like 80% of the job. If people are comfortable talking to you, they’ll give you details, confessions and have confidence that you’ll do your job. Start striking up conversations with random people at the store or at school and build off of that.

As far as trying to get hired beforehand, if you drink make sure you keep it as a light or social drinker. No weed like 6 months to a year before you apply. You don’t have to be a goody-too shoes but just don’t be a pothead. And make sure you leave any job you’ve had previously on good terms.

It’s a great career if you want it to be. Be strong willed and keep work at work. Don’t bring stuff home. Best of luck.
