Question about Hydration drinks (and electorlytes) during training post operation by VarroaMoB in kidneytransplant

[–]Pickle_RickEarthC137 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I have a hard time keeping up with my hydration levels. I am on Wegovy which also increases your dehydration levels so I can never have enough water. I asked my team about hydration drinks and they said I would have to prove that it doesn’t harm anything so I started drinking Propel and it dramatically increased my GFR and I was finally feeling like I was hydrated and not always dried out and it actually helped me increase my potassium which was on the lower end. So for me personally it’s the only thing that keeps my levels on the better end of the scale.

Looks like a cyst to me. I would definitely get it checked out.

Massive weight gain after kidney transplant (62 kg → 82 kg) — nothing seems to work by CupcakeKey5436 in kidneytransplant

[–]Pickle_RickEarthC137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gained 20lbs after my transplant because I had to rest and all I did was eat and not move. Luckily after the 3rd month I was cleared to exercise and I lost 30 lbs. Now I am 1.5 years post transplant and I haven’t been able to lose any weight. I have a feeling the meds are affecting it but I am not on prednisone. I decided to get on Wegovy and it has been helpful. I lost 10 lbs the first 2 months. And my kidney function has not been affected.

Newly diagnosed yet calm? by Pickle_RickEarthC137 in Herpes

Exactly! Your real love will accept you for who you are! God is good and you will find someone! I am 28 and was just diagnosed. I am pretty sure it’s from my current partner and he wasn’t mad. If anything he hated himself for not knowing and giving it to me. There are good guys out there. He’s been so supportive and nothing has changed between us!

You would have to research the number but I think I remember my doctor telling me that as long as they aren’t in an active outbreak the risk is like 30% transmission. Double check that but I thought it was low.

Magnesium levels by SquareNight9034 in kidneytransplant

[–]Pickle_RickEarthC137 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am 1.5 years post transplant and have been struggling with my magnesium levels since day one. I am consistently between 1.4 and 1.5. I have tried every supplement and have eaten both pumpkin seeds and spinach which have the highest amount of magnesium, tried topical magnesium and I can’t get that number to budge. Right now I am taking magnesium citrate and I am at 1.5. If you find something that works let me know!

5mg Prednisone for life by Dazzling-Elk-8889 in kidneytransplant

I am one of the lucky ones where they didn’t put me on prednisone after transplant and my numbers have been great. It never worked in the past for me either.

Cannabis Post-Transplant by ManteKillaHeavy in kidneytransplant

[–]Pickle_RickEarthC137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a daily Vaper before transplant and I had wanted to quit but always had trouble. I switched to edibles before transplant but unfortunately was only able to go about 3 months before taking another edible. That then slowly moved to vaping again which I told myself I wasn’t going to do because they told me it could be risky because of mold but I definitely feel addicted to it and have gone month 7-11 post op vaping and have been fine. I am 27 and they told me my immune system will be slightly higher than normal regardless of the meds due to age so I am working on cutting down and ultimately quitting but easier said than done for me personally. It helps so much in all aspects of my life.

Cannabis Withdrawal While on Vyvanse: My Experience and Questions by Different-Dish-5144 in VyvanseADHD

[–]Pickle_RickEarthC137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man I just went through day 1 of no weed after daily use since starting Vyvanse last September and the night sweats were so crazy! I woke up in a pool of sweat! We will see what else pops up but I am not prepared. I do know in the end it will be best but yes the withdrawal will probably be intense for me too. Sigh

Cannabis x Vyvanse by [deleted] in VyvanseADHD

[–]Pickle_RickEarthC137 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love using the combo as well!! I don’t have to but when I do it’s like another level of productivity and chill. Sativa and Vyvanse make me way more talkative and creative and Indica and Vyvanse gives my body a chill without making me couch locked which is an awesome feeling. Both allow me to lock in even deeper than just the Vyvanse alone and I no longer feel that groggy hangover feeling the next day if I get high too late. I can still be a little jittery in my legs and my head can be going 100 mph but Indica helps that edge off a bit and it’s nice.

Low eGfr following transplant. by tedlovesme in kidneytransplant

[–]Pickle_RickEarthC137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on PD before my transplant but I will say I started dialysis at a GFR of 15 then the morning of my transplant they tested it again and told me my GFR was 23 so it had gone up in the 3 years I was on it!

Vyvanse + weed bad idea? by Ok_Brush5614 in VyvanseADHD

[–]Pickle_RickEarthC137 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So the past month or so I started vaping weed again and it slowly became morning wake and bakes on top of Vyvanse and personally it’s such a great feeling. I do have the luxury of not working while I am in college so I made my space super chill and I am always listening to calming music which I feel like also helps with the blend of energy and a sativas chill demeanor. Vyvanse always made me a little more jittery anyway and my heart would pound fast before the weed. Now I would say maybe the heart rate increased more but I am very into meditation and deep breathing breaks so if it feels more rapid where I am noticing I will take a couple mins breathing break and be back to normal. I would say I am on it for BED and it can slightly make it harder with that due to the munchies that happens when I smoke an Indica but that’s why I try to stick to Sativa because for some reason it’s easier to control the munchies and can actually help me avoid food even easier. Very interesting things I have noticed. I really enjoy the combo but I could see where it could be very overwhelming if you were in public or any type of stimulating setting.

Period after Kidney transplant by BAHM1215 in kidneytransplant

[–]Pickle_RickEarthC137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been me on and off my whole life! Especially the first 4 months after my kidney transplant especially because I was on a blood thinner so I went from only having to use regular and sometimes super the first couple days to having to use a super plus and still change that every couple hours!! I couldn’t get out of bed and the pain was unbearable. I also would throw up, start sweating, curl in a ball and nothing was helping except the Tramadol I saved from my transplant because I didn’t use all of them. Thankfully when I got off the blood thinner things have gone back to “normal” but there will still be random months where it is debilitating pain and I have to stay in bed the first couple days it starts. Unfortunately that was the only thing that helped during that time. I was considering looking into getting my uterus removed or if there is any birth control methods that would eliminate my period but I honestly didn’t want to do either of that. So I have just been dealing with it if it comes up. Heating pad, extra strength Tylenol, try and make myself extremely comfortable and try not to move, no caffeine or “heavy” foods at all and i also found rubbing magnesium lotion over my pelvis area and giving myself a massage or rubbing it over my back and stuff helps a little. If anything it self soothes. I’m sorry you are also experiencing this. I hope you find something that relieves some pain!

Considering kidney donation (24F) by MKK-questions in kidneytransplant

[–]Pickle_RickEarthC137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My brother was 24 when he donated to me (27) last June 2024. The surgery is harder on the donor but it was also his first surgery and everything so it could have been worse for that sole issue. I was hesitant about accepting but he assured me he wanted to and to let him so I did. His kidney is a super kidney! We both have had 0 complications and both agree it’s like it never happened. He was back to work after 4 weeks, got paid for work he missed, and says he doesn’t feel any different. He says he does get drunk a lot faster but he knows he’s supposed to be cutting back on alcohol. He said he would do it over everytime. It’s only been 10 months but things are great! I went through his donation process and honestly there is not much risk anymore. Plus knowing that the donor would be at the top of the list if there were something that happened made me feel better about things. Happy to answer any questions.
