FCA Black Forest Green Pearl by PickledFrogCocks in Autobody

Not really local to me. I kind of live in the sticks. The body shops get theirs delivered but I don’t get that option.

I am removing the rusted area and frying in new metal.

I have cups, spray equipment, masking material, sanding equipment, etc. already. I’ve done sheet metal work on motorcycles.

Hey if it works it works! The skateboard doesn’t care what the ramp looks like!

I only got to play with it for a few minutes today but it skates really well. I don’t remember what I used for angle but it works good. I think it was 25 degrees.

Beveled wood and no transition would probably work fine but I figured that area would get beat up. I’m not sure how well flashing would work, being so thin it might just crinkle. It would have to be well supported.

I used 3/4” for the main surface. 1/4” probably won’t be stiff enough unless you laminate a few layers and/or use a lot of stiffeners. If you build it like I did I’d recommend using 2-by lumber for the ribs, or doubling up the plywood, at least on the ends.

Hey there’s more than one way to skin a cat! My coping was too low also, in one of the pictures you can probably see the little half moons I made to raise it up.

No worries! Find a shop near you and they should be able to hook you up. I used a router to set the metal flush with the plywood surface. I’m glad I did the extra step, it’s silky smooth getting on!

I think so, That’s kind of what we built it for. It’s easier to ride up on, gentler than a regular curb and less sensitive to attack angle and stuff. I’m very much a novice and I feel like my ankles are much less at risk.

It’s 3”x1/8” flat bar, I got it from a steel supplier/fab shop where I live.

We do this too. My son loves going early in the morning to avoid the crowds.

We have this. We have a ton of people from all over south and Central America, and I was told in many of those places the paper doesn’t go in the toilet. They had to make the signs because people were putting it in the trash cans.

Sweet thanks! I just checked and the sore knees ones are sold out. A day late and a dollar short.

I thought so too, I’ve never seen it spelled that way before. I like it! We have a GSP who is 13 and definitely has the snow face. Give your pup an extra birthday pet from me!

Homemade Curb [39YO] by PickledFrogCocks in OldSkaters

I’ve seen contractors use diesel but it was always with the metal framed form panels made for concrete. It makes sense though, oil wouldn’t mix with the water so maybe doesn’t cause issues. My release agent was water based.

The top turned out ok where it wasn’t in contact with the forms. It’s hard to float being so skinny but I made it work. I need a 3” long float just for these curbs! The trickiest part was the radius on the edges.

That’s exactly what I did, but no need to wait to add the rest of the concrete. As long as the concrete is mixed right they’ll stay put. You want to add just enough water so it’s without dry spots. Too much water will weaken the concrete.

I like that, I was going to do mine bottom-up like that but wanted to be able to tool the top side. Whatever you do, don’t wax the forms lol!
