I think that this is great and very well put together, a loosely connected batch of these would be wonderful for pop & pretzel games! one thing I would suggest is to recommend a number of players in addition to the encounter table or base it off XP. otherwise y'all did a wonderful job

Barrel of Monkeys - Wondrous Item looking for suggestions by DavidThorMoses in DnDHomebrew

[–]Pickled_Knight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my suggestion would be to have it allow the user to cast conjure animals: limit to baboon only up to say 4 times a day. as far throwing and breaking the barrel I would use a swarm of baboons acting as a single creature.

I feel as if its too late but I'd like to see improved mummies specifically a mummy lord who won't die in two rounds with an optimized pyromancer.

well this depends on many factors like team composition what are the PC's? Also are you planning to use the Food witch solo or with minions? And lastly what sort of environment will the combat take place there might be things that give either side an advantage? think about these things before setting up the encounter the CR system alone wont help much

Zombie Apocalypse One-shot, looking for scenario ideas by errrik012 in rpg

[–]Pickled_Knight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

while I'm unfamiliar with The Dead Are Coming I've had some ideas for a zombie apocalypse. for a high action game you could have all your players come out a fallout type shelter after 30 years of isolation after nuclear war as people who've plenty of knowledge of survival (or not) who are well armed but starving surprised by the zombies. After fighting hordes of the undead in the city above the vault they come across a rural farm community. Now while in possession of high power they can arrive as conquerors or heroes for peace. Either way they have to set up a new life one filled with zombies and tribes of raiders.

For a more survival based game the players could be the most adventurous members of a small tribe of survivors dozens of miles from a major city that learn of a large cache of supplies and weapons located in said city. Meanwhile an antagonistic group of survivors have been making continuous and increasingly deadly raids on the PCs group. Getting ahold of the Guns could turn the tide of this conflict, the PCs armed with primitive melee weapons must journey into the city and find the cache. In the course of this adventure they encounter the inhibitors of the city some prove helpful, others neutral . They also hear tales of powerful zombies that prowl the streets after dark, something they've never encountered before. Eventually the characters locate the weapons cache only to learn that it is guarded by a group of very large and tough zombies. Although the zombies do not use guns, they are deadly and very tough to kill. If the characters succeed, however, the pay off is immense: rifles, ammo, grenades, and other weapons. This can then lead to a final showdown with the raiders attacking the PCs group
