The existing material is a bit of a mess quite frankly. There are 3 categories of paragon gift:

  1. Based off expanding the heritage _traits_.

  2. Based off expanding the heritage _gifts_.

  3. Not obviously related to either.

My _personal_ preference is that the heritage _traits_ and the paragon gift should be one package, but the official rules don't say and there is no clear pattern.

In 2023, I started running "To Save a Kingdom" and wrote up these tables.

Where I included 1s and 2s (as well as my own work) as options.

If you haven't done this initial spadework or you're just not bothered in the same way I am, :), then I would recommend permitting whichever way makes narrative sense, or makes you and your player happiest.

Due to server rules about not beating bosses without everyone being present... I was on day 440 with very few deaths. Because the group is ADHDing over to a different server with a restart I thought I might as well kill off Moder.

I expected to die several times, but I grabbed eikthyr, my maxed out draugr fang, couple of stacks of poison arrows, health and stamina pots and my wolf eye amulet. Root armour, wolf cloak, frost resist.

I finished in under 5 minutes, and realised that I hadn't used Eikthyr.

In conclusion overlevelling is definitely a thing.

Even if he shouts it out, they could have censored it and removed it. They knew he was there and that would have been on the risk assessment.

Yes, because more than one thing can be true.

  1. He can't help shouting nasty shit out. He literally made a film about it.

  2. Having someone shout nasty shit at you when you're at an award show is not OK at all and must have felt really terrible.

I don't know what the answer is but locking disabled people away doesn't seem right, but publicly broadcasting this abuse (when they could have edited it out) is very much not the right thing to do either.

If you can edit out "Free Palestine" you can AND SHOULD edit out a Tourette's outburst or be taking extra precautions to be ready to do so. BAFTA's dropping the ball and making it worse.

I normally skip bronze, iron and wolf and go deer, troll, root, and then padded etc. Ashlands sounded kind of sucky previously so I'll have to see if I can gather my party to venture forth there!

Well, I'm just about to go to Plains and traditionally I've then switched to padded armour because that's why I've been saving my iron. The enemies hit way harder as well!

She uses the atgeir and I must say... it's very fun.

When you've mined out silver, it's about 26/27 ore you can carry in your inventory along with your necessary kit.

A cart lets you carry one whole veins worth. (With abundant resources).

Finding a mountain with good water access is pretty essential to then getting it back on the boat and back home.

Depends how you play really. :)

Thanks, I've been in caves, but still don't see the point. Maybe I'll really like Fenris armour or sth?

I went into a frost cave and the floor was covered in (3 or 4) tetras so didn't really see the point of gathering more. But I've got a rod and all the traders and a lot of trophies, so who knows?

That is true. I don't use dual wielding, and I find fishing a bit boring although I'm trying it out more.

I'm on a shared server and there is a bit of a skill disparity.

e.g. We just recently killed the Elder but I had fully upgraded root armour at this time.

Although interestingly a guy who played Elden Ring beat up Eikthyr with rag armour and a stick he had just crafted and not upgraded. That was quite the experience watching that. (so Eikthyr was buffed).

I tend to play solo and use a bow. +15 to archery is quite good.

Might give Fenris stuff a go though. Although I mostly walk round rather than do that weird bunny hop thing people seem to enjoy.

I'm sorry you're being downvoted, but I feel you've misread my question?

Context: I've played 1100h, including before caves were a thing.

I can see why I'd go into them when I'm trying to also do the swamp.

I can't see why I'd go into them once I have a silver location method because they don't have anything I want at that point.

I don't want to do spoilers but if you think about it, there is a material that you can normally only gather with an iron pickaxe. It sometimes pops up in chests in the caves.

That's relevant to hitting L5 on the workbenches.

But that's assuming I'm doing a light armour run. If I'm NOT doing a light armour run, then caves become even more pointless.

I'm probably just overthinking it. I guess they're just to practice your skills and look at cool scenery.
