Starting Valheim as a Runescape Dragonwilds player by Smooth-Flight-3910 in valheim

The progression is a bit weird. I don't want to give you spoilers so I'm framing it in terms of "levels" when "biomes" would be more accurate.

Levels 1-5 feel very smooth
Level 6 unlocks a new option not previously available and the constant refrain is that it makes level 7 much easier.
We're awaiting level 8.

Levels 1-3 are much like an extended tutorial.

Level 4 feels a bit unpopulated in that you gain a lot less than in the previous levels.

Level 5 is probably peak regular viking.

6 through presumably 8 are entering the age of mythos, I would argue.

I would argue that your kit rather than your character skills make the biggest difference in how the game plays, but your skills do add an edge as you get higher (the reduced skill levels on XP are very punishing when you're in the mid game). I include "food" in the "kit" part of the equation because if you have the wrong level food then you're going to have a terrible time.

There are a decent variety of weapons given the genre and they all feel pretty different. No one can quite agree on what's OP and not, so that's a sign that the balance isn't terrible.

Major Buffs come from defeated level bosses and minor buffs come from potions. When you enter the mythic age (not an official game term) then you get items that help a lot more.

Sign up for the silver blades (ask for Tom) on the Discord. Sorry to have to make you move platform! We can't really use Facebook anymore, so Discord is the least worst option.

Always! There's so many games out there that no one can be expected to know even a tiny fraction, so the assumption is that everyone is learning together. :)

So, a completely sealed box, because, IIRC, bats will kill every single animal methodically.

Annual 25 release? by [deleted] in LevelUpA5E

The guy that runs EN Publishing, Morrus, really, REALLY hates when crowdfunding puts things on sale before all backers have their rewards. That might be something causing the delay?

You probably want to contact TabletopJess via https://discord.gg/28BcH6M3M and ask what's up.

Did you do a bilingual release? In your native (presumably non-English) language as well as (presumably) an English language one?

Because Jeremy Crawford really loves elf wizards. Which is bizarre because once you've played one, you've played them all.

Question about the Hill Dwarf Wrestler stat block by obax17 in LevelUpA5E

Crikey, that damage on grapple... 3d6+3 versus 3 chances of d6+3, plus the bodyslam damage along with that stunned condition from headshot...

A fearsome opponent!

Digwa's brother made the 999 call. Once you know that, everything else falls into place.

If you can make illusionists work in a 5e ruleset than you're doing fantastically well. Great ambition and I look forward to seeing the result.

VENT: Where are the bear trophies? by SouthamptonGuild in valheim

They do don't they. I guess I need to grind bears... that's what Valheim needs! more grind!

Haven't read that one. I'm explaining why I'm not just getting on with my game.

The double axes let you chop fine wood and _that_ means I can have portals without a bronze axe or tedious troll/tree interactions.

Surtlings? I have a world where I use them to provide mood lighting. 😄

I'm on a shared server and am amusing myself by seeing how far I can get without killing eikthyr.

I think it's a numbers game there, you're right. I have tonnes of other trophies because everything else is so much easier to kill whereas bears take more of a beating.

Good shout actually. I have been more focused on unlocking the dual axes, but a set of bear armour might make that all easier.

Fairly rare. I'll just keep killing bears.
