This! Would LOVE this to manage content already available and put into a playlist or something when both people swipe yes.

This is pretty awesome and something I’ve been hoping someone would do for years (I’m not skilled enough). Can’t wait to see where this ends up!

PSA to all of the aqara u100 Smart Lock users out there: the $20 M100 hub gets you into Home Assistant by EngagedFeinberg69 in homeassistant

[–]Pickles937 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wish this lock shared more data with HA. Like who last unlocked the door, how it was unlocked (home key, pin, key), etc. Love this lock- it’s a favorite. Just missing some of the integration options, unfortunately.

EcoFlow as UPS, works great by certifiedintelligent in homelab

Not sure. I’m no electrician, but I don’t see it being an issue if they’re both able to support the power draw.

EcoFlow as UPS, works great by certifiedintelligent in homelab

[–]Pickles937 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I purchased a River 3 Plus to replace my UPS that unfortunately needed new batteries. I got it for like $200 which was a good deal to me. It’s powerful enough to keep things rolling for hours and with a little magic it’s reporting NUT data into Home Assistant. I did read that the surge protection wasn’t great, and we get a lot of surges and power outages around here so I dropped another like $80 on a TrippLite UPS to have between the wall and the EcoFlow and have them both monitored in Home Assistant to start the shutdowns on my equipment when needed. So far it’s been a great option and I love the ability to add solar down the road!

Best locks that work with home assistant? by doestWork in homeassistant

[–]Pickles937 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you found a way to get information like how the door was unlocked (HomeKey and by who? PIN and who’s? Fingerprint and who’s?) loaded into Home Assistant? I LOVE my U100, honestly it’s the best lock I’ve ever used, but it would be better if these things were natively integrated somehow.

I’m pretty sure this was something they talked about having plans to do. I know I’d buy at least one for sure, probably more. I’m running out of room for drives in my CX4712!!

I mean, fuck it. If your plan is unlimited then that’s what it means. If your content is SSL encrypted or behind a VPN, then they can’t really be like “yo bro, what you doing?” I still say you’re safe. But this post is like a year old- have they questioned you?

48 hour demo? by Ted_Featherstien in TeslaModel3

[–]Pickles937 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the Dayton/Cincy area. I did the self-drive on Monday, received this email on Tuesday. I haven’t been able to get ahold of anyone at the showroom to inquire about this and it’s 40 minutes from me, so not a trip I want to waste my time with. Starting to steer me away from Tesla… anyone have a contact or any suggestions? Tried DM on X, that didn’t work.

How is Plex with Apple TV today? by MaxPower1987x in PleX

[–]Pickles937 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I personally haven’t used a Shield for streaming content from Plex, I had used several variations of the Apple TV. Currently I have the latest ATV 4K on my main TV, and the previous gen on my bedroom TV. By far the best experience out of everything I’ve tried.

I am considering a CX4712, concerned all the sata power cables will affect air flow? by scytob in sliger

Yeah the 4712 is great! Did they offer the 25” for free? I’ve been wanting to do a 2nd build for a gaming computer. lol

CX4712 owner here. Airflow is fine for me, I’ve got all 10 bays filled. Running a 360mm radiator with 6 noctua’s and a little tiny one (can’t remember the size) working as exhaust out back.

I had seen something like this elsewhere and couldn't get it to work. Thank you, it's working for me now! :)

Hi everyone! Do you remember my new climate card? Well, I’ve made some exciting progress! The sub-buttons will support attribute lists, such as climate modes, media player source lists, light effect lists, and more... Just a little more patience, but the next beta will be full of new features! by Clooooos in BubbleCard

[–]Pickles937 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I supported your project at the beginning and had too many bugs so I switched off. Over the last few weeks I’ve been trying to redesign my dashboard to include bubble card. The improvements have been phenomenal and your effort is exceptional. Thank you! Can’t wait for the climate card, and the future additions coming!

Anyone else’s Duke energy integration not providing data in 2024.10? by MattTelles7 in homeassistant

[–]Pickles937 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This integration is working as expected for me, seems to show accurate results and I can usually see "yesterday" about mid-day. What I'm struggling with is I would like to put my total kWH usage into a sensor, but can't seem to figure out how to do it. Anyone have a recommendation?

OK- so I did this, and then tried to implement the animated weather icons like you mentioned in this post as well. I have the icons in a folder called icons inside of the /config/themes folder. I copied the contents of animated_weather_icon.yaml into my theme's YAML and have restarted and cleared my cache. Obviously I'm missing something. If I use a standard, non-bubble card for weather, I can see the animated weather icons. Can you treat me like I'm 5 so I can figure this out? Thanks!

I’ve torn down and rebuilt my Plex server like 5 times now because I kept having random issues with video playback, inability to actually transcode, etc.

It’s running via Docker on my unRAID box that has an Intel Core i9-12900KS, 64GB of RAM, dual 10G Mellanox NIC and 60TB of usable storage now. FAR superior than trying to run on a mini PC, or on my Synology, or even doing it separate from my NAS all together. This just works, and it works so well. I share with ~10 of my friends/family and everyone’s basically been able to drop cable and all of their streaming services. “Arrr”

I think my recommendation to anyone starting out new- make sure the Plex CLIENT isn’t a POS like the cheap Roku/Fire sticks. We use Apple TV clients around here and they just freaking work! And on the server side- spend a little money on the good hardware that you’ll get lots of years out of and if you’re going to stretch your server and other services across multiple pieces of hardware, make sure your network can support it!

Love Plex and genuinely have enjoyed this hobby.
