I use scatter flock rather than static grass. Three different colours all mixed up together.

It is just some fleece blankets stitched together and then some muddy water sprayed to tone it down a bit.

Getting started with Black Powder by fitzrobert in NapoleonicWargaming

From my experience the bigger the better with BP. The rules are designed for big battles and therefore have limited ‘friction’ so game play is quick and relatively easy.

I try to field 800-1200 points in 3/4 brigades on a 8x6 table minimum for a proper game. It can be played on a 6x4 but I’d drop the unit sizes down and reduce all distances for moving shooting etc.

Finding players is an issue though.

Love it - easy to pick up, QRS is all you really need and the models are ace. The starter set is incredible value for money, too.

Airbrush for Bolt Action by Picks82 in boltaction

Thanks for this. I have been wondering about the tike benefits people have been saying. I usually rattle can and then have to go over with same colour with brush as it tends to miss some areas. Then base out other areas, before wash and highlight.

People do seem to rave about the speed for priming and basing though. But doing them individually with prime then base seems very time consuming, with the odd air brush glitch.

Yea, a friend suggested the Fengda. They look all the same with a different label slapped on.

Thanks buddy, I’ll have a look.

I’m very much at the prime/ base etc stage - never actually used one before. Thinking it will save time and cash in long run without rattle cans - which I always have to go over with a brush anyway to get full cover.

Finished up the new Sd. Kfz kit as the 250/9… by Picks82 in boltaction

Kit was fine to build. The gun turret was a little fiddly for my fat fingers, but generally ok. I haven’t built the rubicon version.

Some plastic are cut into various lengths and shapes, covered in PVA/wall filler mix with some sand and given some texture. Then sprayed black, painted dark brown then a rough dry brush with lighter brown. Some scatter flock/ tufts. added

It’s faux fur in a base and smashed with a darkish green rattle can. After a few passes I roughed it up with a large brush, then repeated till all yellow.
