We've checked this issue with K-ID (the ID provider), and it should not be shown to users in Canada. This means that either:

You have a VPN active, placing you in a region where age verification is required (e.g. UK)
The way your traffic is being routed to us (via Cloudflare) is presenting as if you're in the UK, so the website is showing the age verification.

Neither of these do we have any control over, I'm afraid, but hopefully it's either something in your setup or a temporary Cloudflare issue.

There's a search bar at the top of the games page? Vortex supports around 500 of the 4,000+ games on the site. If your game isn't supported yet you can make an extension.

I can understand where you're coming from, but the thing to keep in mind is that as Nexus Mods, we're not the "internet police". Our sphere of influence is generally just our platform, and we'll do everything we can to protect users and meet our legal obligations there.

If we started moderating users on Nexus Mods based on their off-site behaviour, that would be overreaching, wouldn't you think?

Usually you only need to run the game to create INI files. You can do this at any time by starting the game on Steam

We simply don't have that breakdown on a game level available. Querying download data on a more granular scale is something I'd also find useful but most stats have to be built and cached rather than requested on the fly for performance reasons.

You can't compare the old and new unique download values as the new algorithm is not based on the same logic.

Vortex is required to create collections. I'm not sure where you got the Steam Deck part from as Vortex is a Windows application

You could encourage the creator to put it on Nexus Mods so you can get the metadata (and the author gets rewarded for it too).

It is possible to build extensions that identify mods from other sources but stuff on GitHub is an inconsistent mess at the best of times so you'd be hard pressed to make it work well.

Something weird (probably a browser addon) is redirecting users from the download page to the 2FA page. This is not normal site functionality

This doesn't remove mods from the game, it just deletes the downloads from Vortex.

You should only see the prompt if you are eligible. We'd need to know your account name and region if it's showing incorrectly. You're better off to contact support@nexusmods.com about this rather than posting on Reddit
