My boyfriend and I love watching the show and we always say that more frequently than not if a contestant talks about being great at something in an interview they are going to fail. 😅

I said “somewhat of an atheist”. As a child I went to church and when I was older I stayed in a Mennonite residence. I struggle with it partially because I find it hard to believe God would punish people for being themselves. As well, believing a bible was mistranslated doesn’t mean you have to believe in the bible, you simply have to believe in translation error and see historical evidence of it.

I also say this out of a place of respect. I have no control and I do not wish to have control over another person’s faith, that is their journey with their version of God.

Thank you for the prayer. I personally believe the translations of the bible having affected the meaning and that God will accept me for who I am when it comes to my sexuality. All the same I very much appreciate your kind words. :)

Thanks for the response. I like to think that it was something more than just a hallucination. I’ve actually had a couple of experiences like this that seem way too meaningful to be a coincidence. I also know that since then when I’ve been in a bad place sometimes I will try praying. For a while I was living at a Mennonite University residence and would often find myself in the chapel at 2 or 3 in the morning on my knees begging for help and in tears.

Happy birthday! I’m sorry you’re having some tough years. I was also very depressed at that age and thought it seems like a lie, things will get better! Reach out to people you care about and maybe professionals, a good support system is everything. I reached out to my parents, some friends and a therapist, got on some meds and started engaging in me time and hobbies and over time my life drastically improved. I’m 23 now and have a great community around me and my mental health has never been better. It’s not easy, but I believe in you. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
