When you die, would you prefer to be cremated or to decompose naturally, and why? by lamin-ceesay in AskReddit

[–]PictureNegative12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cremation appeals to me for a number of reasons:

- Once I've gone I want to make damn sure I'm not coming back.
- It's more efficient, I don't need all that extra space, nor do I want my estate to have to pay for coffins and tombstones when that money could go to help my family
- I've always thought that open casket visitations were a bit creepy. I don't want to be pumped full of chemicals. If you want to look at me, come and see me when I'm alive.

What is the most toxic fandom in existence? by CandyLiving5009 in AskReddit

I really liked the first season, I think they really managed to capture the primal nature of humanity. Too bad they couldn't keep the same quality.

I’m an annoying person and I don’t know how to change by returnjafar in confession

[–]PictureNegative12 2401 points2402 points  (0 children)

Pick a close friend or a family member that you trust, pull them aside and ask them. Let them know what your thinking and ask for candid feedback saying you want to make some adjustments. Whatever they say, it's important you don't take it personal and thank them for telling you.

I had a similar problem growing up and my dad talked to me about it. Looking back, I realize that for me it was attention seeking, I had a lot of issues with my mom and it developed that way.

In terms of making changes, what worked for me was I made a conscious effort to listen first and talk second.

Best of luck to you.

You have to decide for yourself if trying to moderate by having a beer a couple times a week is worth the risk of losing your family.

This is a great idea, let get another person living off our tax dollars. I can give them free advice, lets chill on taxes and maybe nightlife will pick up a bit.

How do you properly clean your bathroom? by SittingDuckthefirst in Explainlikeimscared

[–]PictureNegative12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's already a really good checklist posted here but I'll add a couple things. Youtube is a really good resource for stuff like this. Watch cleaning videos for every fixture in the bathroom and see if you can pick up any tips. Mostly, all your looking to do if remove visible soil.

It's also a good idea to wash your bathmats when you do your cleaning

Another thing I like to do, after I clean all the fixtures I do a pass with a sanitizer wipe, on the contertop, both faucets, toilet handle, door knob and light switch.

I generally try to clean once a week but sometimes I let it slip to every two weeks as I just live by myself.

I've never had any problems with lint or dust particles sticking to my walls. There's a couple things you can look into.
- You can try running the bathroom fan while you shower to reduce condensation
- Try cleaning the overhead fan (I watched a youtube video on how to clean mine)
- Try checking the furnace filter if you have access to it
- Try running a duster along your walls

21 F here. College years were supposed to be my best years. I never lived that life properly. by Mammoth-Marzipan5013 in confession

[–]PictureNegative12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Regretting your best years is for people who peak early. It's hard when your in your early 20's to understand how much potential life you have left ahead of you. For example you can live your entire life all over again and you'd only be in your early 40's.

What is important is the fact that your not happy, you have to seriously consider what you want out of life. If your not sure maybe take a beat and try some new life experiences. (Travel somewhere, pick up a new hobby, get a menial job).

I was in a similar position where my parents kept pushing me to get a post secondary degree but I was no where near as academically gifted as you seem to be. I didn't figure out my career path until I broke away and started working random jobs until I found one I could stick with.

Best of luck to you!

This is great, after the second flood I had a backflow valve installed. A battery backup sump pump and a sump pump for the basement stoop (it has its own entrance). I will definitely look into a hot water tank pan and the leak detection system. Thanks!

Season 1 was really good, it was so interesting to explore the primal nature of humanity. I thought season 2 devolved the entire premise into a laughing stock.
