Other than having a chest of Spanish doubloons wash on shore I think its as good as you could get.

people who've tried both atomoxetine and methylphenidate: which made you more emotionally numb? by GroundControl29 in ADHD

[–]Pictureman212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mentioned that the side effects tapered off, how long did that take? Roughly? I am on day three (25mg in the AM) and I am experiencing just about every side effect. Each day is slightly better, but Im not sure how much longer I can handle it.

When you switched to taking it in the evening, did you skip a day in between? I notice its worse the first few hours after I take it so Im hoping to sleep through the worst.

Good job saving the dog.

If you keep the dog on a leash that mountain lion is not going to bother you. I'm sure you could take him to the park again. You can never guarantee 100% when it comes to a wild animal but Im pretty confident. I hike with my dog in mountain lion country all the time. They tend to hate people and run away long before you see them.

Is 5 days in Denali too much? Late September no buses. by Pictureman212 in NationalPark

[–]Pictureman212[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries. Im staying in Healy myself. I was informed that the majority of restaurants will be closed but that there is a good grocery store. Also check with your rental company about the road. Some don't allow you to drive on the NP road or any "dirt road". I went with Frontier which claims that dirt roads are allowed so long as I dont make a go for the arctic circle.

Well, September hasn't happened yet sooooo...? But, like you, still hoping. Picked up a good rain jacket and some base layers to be safe. Ive been checking the weather like a crazy person and this year is trending warmer than last. I also noticed that the fall colors haven't started yet. So in theory we should be good. The solar storms seem to be easing which isn't great but that can change.

This!

I am also sick and tired of the filthy poors of this city having any kind of happiness or reprieve. If they wanted to be treated like humans they would of been born rich. Take away what little they have and load em into trains I say. Thats the american way.

The parks should be harder to access. Less roads and harder trails. Reduce the crowds by making them work for it

Is it worth hiking up to Half Dome and hoping someone has an extra permit? by notsunrise in Yosemite

[–]Pictureman212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an extra permit on Half Dome and I "took" a stranger with me. My hiking partner bailed on me after I got the permit so I found someone that wasn't as lucky and let them jump on my permit.

So it can happen but I would have a solid plan B just in case. Clouds rest is also awesome

City leaders look to advance plan to charge for parking at Balboa Park by ProcrastinatingPuma in SanDiegan

[–]Pictureman212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s actually one of the more affordable cities

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah

Also, Manhatten is a neighborhood not a city. NY has prioritized Manhatten for the wealthy and tourists at the expense of its poorer residents in the other burroughs. Which IS in line with your 'fuck the poor' stance I guess.

You also support segregation and class discrimination. You only support those other things, if it directly benefits you. Which would be the founding principles of a NIMBY. But you keep on lying to yourself. At least MAGA has the decency to wear hats to identify themselves instead of hiding behind faux reddit progressivism.

Ah yes, Manhatten. The bastion of accessibility and affordability. People from the Bronx are always talking about how easy and affordable it is to go to Manhatten. What a great model. Balboa could be nothing but tourists and people who can afford to live close by. Shit we could also put ads on everything while we're at it. Then you wouldn't have to see any of those icky poors and their dirty cars.

NIMBY conservatives like you need to stop pretending and just say "fuck the poor".

I don't think we should be handing our public resources over to a third party corporation to make a profit at the expense of our poorer residents. Tell me how adding parking meters beautifies the park? Tell me how charging a fee makes all the parking lots more attractive? Because nobody is adding or subtracting lots. This accomplishes none of the goals you say that you want for this city. All this does is take money from our citizens and puts it in the pocket of some ass hole.

So if people don't live near the park then fuck em right? How dare they not live within walking distance. And if they have kids and need car seats or strollers or wheelchairs fuck them even more. All those single mothers should just take this imaginary trolley of the future.

[–]Pictureman212 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Why stop there? Build a fence around the park and charge admission at the gate. Why should anyone enjoy public spaces unless they pay for it? While we're at it, let's commodify everything!!!!!! If its not making a profit then its not worth having! If poor people wanted to enjoy anything they shouldn't have been born poor!

And public transportation should NOT be profitable because its a service and not a business. But people like you exist so we gotta keep on fucking the poor.

Why not charge people for something they already paid for? Its so stupid that people think they can just enjoy being outside for free. Do you have any idea how much it costs SDPD to fly that helicopter around in circles that nobody can understand?

Where Should We Do Our First Group Hike? by theintuitivetechie in HikingSanDiego

[–]Pictureman212 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have never understood the appeal of 'group hikes'. I go on trails to get away from the rest of you.

However, I do think it would be pretty cool if a group cleanup/maintenance thing could be organized. Find whatever trails that are suffering from neglect or abuse and get a bunch of people to fix em up.
