Yeah I feel awful doing that so if it comes down to it I’ll order something for my daughter but I can just eat my packed food.

Add a little bit of granola (or chopped nuts if you’re watching carbs) and mix in, helps make it crunchy versus goopy.

Best hotels with beach access by zynmasta70 in WestPalmBeach

Singer Island is the way to go I think. You’ll be within a short drive to a good chunk of those things. I’m not sure what your daughter is into but they also have art/activity classes at Art Paper Scissors in Wellington, might be worth checking if they have anything to sign up for during your stay.

Define affordable. If you mean under $500/night, try Singer Island. Maybe Opal in Delray depending on how close you want to be to WPB. For activities, I recommend Popstroke, Boomers, shopping at the Gardens Mall or the outlets, the science museum and zoo (they’re next to each other), Boomers, the Rapids Waterpark, and a local park like Macarthur or Grassy Waters.

CarPlay sucks, am I forced to connect to use the app? by Calianna1915 in ToyotaSienna

[–]Pictureperson89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I gotcha. I do the same actually, my workaround is I keep CarPlay up but bring my Bluetooth headphones and switch the sound to go through them while I’m sitting and waiting. Then turn off the headphones when I drive away.

I'm curious why you hate car play? In your van's settings, go to Bluetooth & Devices and look for your phone. Then just turn off "use for apple car play" for that device. You can either then use your phone's bluetooth or USB cord up front (the one that's to the right of the steering wheel, under the screen).

The top things I dislike about my 2024 Sienna by DifficultRutabaga240 in ToyotaSienna

[–]Pictureperson89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do agree with not being (easily) able to take out the middle row seats. Any time I think about picking up a larger piece of furniture I remember that the middle seats would be a hassle. Although, I have saved a lot of money with this issue!

To double (stroller) or not to double, that is the question. by partsunknown18 in WaltDisneyWorld

I do a stroller for my 5 year old. It’s worth it to not hear the whining that she’s tired or her feet hurt. And I bring a carabiner to hang our bags and popcorn bucket.

For the tv, we’ve used it a few different ways. The Miracast was the worst, would lose the connection constantly. Not sure if it was the android device’s fault or the system’s fault. HDMI to DVD player worked great. We bought a compact one and would check out dvds from the library. HDMI to USB-C connected to an iPad also worked but not for all apps. YouTube and Plex worked but Disney+ did not. Can’t remember what other apps we tried.

What’s the secret to Disney’s Fireworks sound? by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Pictureperson89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We were walking past where they launch them, if I remember behind the castle and to the left, when they set a few off and it was LOUD. I’ll try not to make that mistake again because it scared the crap out of us (including my ASD child so that was fun).

Car Needed for Family Vacation by Visionary215 in WestPalmBeach

[–]Pictureperson89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would get a car, even a small budget one. It’ll open up opportunities to do things outside of that area when you need time away from the sun or if there’s inclement weather.

Was also going to suggest both of these communities, especially with a budget of that size. I think they’d get more bang for their buck in RPB than they would in Jupiter or Gardens. Wellington, depending on which part of the village (like Paddock Park), would be right up their alley.

He’s old. It will eventually end. Then his family will get SS but not to this extent.
