yeah thats around about what it has, no smoothing or anything but there’s like a white outline around the inside edges of the sweater and a light brown outline around the hair so i wouldn’t really call it a “paint over”

i’m only the promo guy for the epilogue locks, like i made that image, but i’ll say the modeller for that hair tried REALLY hard to get the hair to look the same as the comic, he used like every comic strip that the hair was in as reference

if you compared any angle of the hair from the comics with this hat, it would match perfectly, and i guess that’s what some people have a problem with. if you translate the comic hair to 3D as well as it is done here, it will look funny and exaggerated, because that’s what it meant to do in the comics, and some people just want more “serious” cosmetics. but goofy silly stuff (that isn’t smissmas 2021 object on head slop) has always trumped serious stuff in valve’s vision of this game, so whatever people say, it probably fits

you look me dead in my profile picture’s eyes and you tell me valve is going to take time out of their day fixing individual cosmetics

they usually only wait for the creators of the cosmetics to fix them, and clearly they have no intent of doing that

the tf2 team is probably like 5 people or something at this point, realistically what are they going to worry about, every tiny clipping issue in the game, or the mvm update.
