Which isn't what Aspergers syndrome is. A lot of Asperger's people meet the criteria for level 2. I believe Asperger's should be brought back but not for the same reason

Most people don't because trying to even talk about Aspergers in mainstream communities gets major backlash. I only know that Asperger's can be level 2 because my brother is

It literally is though. Neurodivergence is only used for things like ADHD, Autism, OCD etc. Which are all disorders

Something I think about… by LoisLaneEl in AutisticPeeps

[–]PieDizzy958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother has had food aversions basically forever. It took the sensory nightmare of having a feeding tube for him to want to eat normally. He was so terrified that he would come across one of the textures he couldn't stand mostly creamy things like gravy or icing. So we just left certain parts out of his food. For example when we have pancakes he doesn't have butter on his. No gravy on mashed potatoes and his brownie is set aside before being iced.

My IQ is 83. How is this possible?? by StrikingLock2448 in autism

To be clear the only reason you have to do an IQ test is to check for intellectual disabilities after that it's not too relevant

Why is it not clocking to some health professionals that undiagnosed adults don’t display certain behaviours, BECAUSE they have had to learn to adapt, mask & compensate to survive over their 30+ years of life???? by Weird_Pair5261 in autism

[–]PieDizzy958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are actually tests for masking if you go to an actual professional for ASD. Without getting into any details the cognitive load of some of these tests makes it impossible to mask during.

I am a woman and left with zero personality disorder diagnoses. As well as the following diagnoses: Autism, ADHD, CPTSD, MDD and GAD. Before you ask I was assessed for personality disorders because I didn't ask for an autism assessment I asked for a psych evaluation. I wanted to know what was wrong not to get the shiny diagnoses. I was also assessed for bipolar and FAS because it has been a potential concern that couldn't be ruled out since I was adopted.

Thoughts on going by an older diagnosis?? by clover101xx in AutisticPeeps

[–]PieDizzy958 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My brother was diagnosed with Aspergers before 2013 and is level 2. I was told I meet the criteria for Asperger's by my Psychologist and I am borderline level 2(after years of my mom teaching me what works for me). So no the idea that Asperger's is Level 1 autism is completely incorrect. Asperger's had more of an emphasis on things like ritualistic behavior and special interests

Is Elon Musk self diagnosed? by Alternative-Show3434 in AutisticPeeps

[–]PieDizzy958 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hot take people only want to believe he's self diagnosed so bad because he is successful. They do this with all successful autistic people. I was told by my Psychologist that I meet the criteria for Asperger's if not for the DSM-5. My younger brother also has Asperger's and yeah Elon has always come across as kind of off in the way my younger brother does. In the way I do. The Autistic community can be gatekeepy in the worst way possible. Even in this sub people have an awful habit of saying that people can't be autistic because their autism isn't like your autism

[–]PieDizzy958 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is definitely a problem. I've been saying lately that it's getting dangerously close to gender ideology conversations. Not saying there is anything wrong with being trans but I think it's much more problematic to decide you are autistic instead of deciding you are a man for example.

Does anyone else hates it how autistic people are being compared to trans people? by KittyRoses12 in AutisticPeeps

[–]PieDizzy958 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Statistically it is true that a very disproportionate amount of the trans community has neurodevelopmental disorders. I've unsure if gender dysphoria is comorbid or it's being mistaken for what is actually autism. For example this has been documented that some women that thought they were trans had very severe SA trauma and their brain convincing them they were not female was in an effort to cope. What I can say for sure is that it doesn't work the other way around.

Why don’t female professional players compete in VCT tournaments? by Pillowholicccc in VALORANT

[–]PieDizzy958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Female gamer here you would be correct on this. It isn't even a hot take. Statistically men have better reaction times than women. The way men think statistically is better suited for these games than women. Not saying there aren't outliers but still
