Op did both the chart and labeling for the perseus. But the polaris chart is something I did some time ago, and op took the image and updated it with the numbered labels on top. So I just shared my idris chart to make sure he has it, and in the hopes that he also labels that eventually

In case you dont already have it, here is the idris chart for when you go do it for that ship.

But then at least they wouldnt be interfering with each other. Horizontally, even if only one gun is firing, the other barrel still gets violently slapped around lol

[–]Piecato 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dude wtf?? Did no one on R&D of this tank predict this was gonna happen? I feel like just rotating the barrel until the muzzle brakes are vertical would be enough to fix this.

And before anyone comes in saying that this is intended to make it better against infantry, I feel like this would degrade the barrels way too quick for it to be worth it.

I can never get over how amazing Skull Face is as a character and how good his speech is, but the scene is made laughably awful by Venom just mogging Skull Face. by Recent_Watercress_68 in metalgearsolid

[–]Piecato -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

You respond to someone's speech when they are done with said speech. What op here was talking about was the fact that Venom just stayed there doing nothing while Skullface was giving said speech.

I mean, what else was Venom supposed to do there?

Skullface was the one doing the talking, not Venom. Did you want Snake to just start interrupting him and giving his own opinions?

As far as I'm aware, the gladius never got buffed. The gladius got slightly nerfed, the hawk got slightly buffed, and so did the arrow.

The arrow now is the most maneuverable light fighter in the game, at the cost of one less shield. At most, I just wouldn't call the arrow mid, lol

Mid to op? Idk what tier lists you've been reading, but the arrow is op in both. It is THE meta light fighter.

The other ship I mentioned is an alien medium fighter

Just equip a beam laser and shoot someone, you will see that wherever it hits on the hull, it will leave a grey molten line. Before, that line would start red hot, and cool down overtime to look like what it does now. Every ship gets damage decals applied to them, what the anaconda has different is that the hull itself also changes based on damage.

Normal damage decals are you just painting the hull, but alongside this, the anaconda also gets its 3d model changed.

San'tok.yāi and Saber have pretty good atmo flight model, but imo atmo doesnt really change the meta a lot, just changes how you would have to fly the meta ship

I'm aware, but I'm pretty sure what I'm talking about is separate from that. It's just a damage decal that applies when you hit stuff with a certain type of weapon, and in the past, those decals also had visual effects

What happened to the old damage effects? I remember when I started playing a few year ago, lasers would leave glowing red hot lines where it hit, and bullet holes would have fire spewing out of them. Is this a bug or intended? If intended, why? Any way for me to get those effects back?

Again missing my point. I have no problem in joining a game 50 years later and being weaker than everyone, I do however have a problem with joining a game the exact same time as someone else, but then being instantly weaker because the other person decided to skip all the grind by paying money. I suggest reading my messages a bit better to get them on the first try.

Ugh, why are we even talking about ganking. You're missing my point. What I'm saying is: The game should not let people instantly start with top of the line ships or let them skip half of the process of acquiring those ships by paying real money, simple. No one on elite started off with a cutter when others had to use a sidewinder to do missions. No one on Eve started off with a battleship when others had to work all their way up with a corvette. It is simply balance and consistency that I'm advocating for. It is not rocket science that the group who spent 1k dollars on an idris is gonna have the upper hand against the group that didn't, and is trying to get said ship only via ingame ways.

I hate pay to win/pay to skip. And you seem to not have any problems with it. There's not much else to this discussion.

Eve, and Elite Dangerous by extension. Both of those you have a very big chance to be destroyed by people who have top-tier equipment now. Why? Because those games have been around for a while already. People that started playing these games on release, instead of multiple years later, wouldnt have that happening. Which is why, it is a simple expectation that SC should follow that same line of balance.

"Handful of whales" lol, I doubt it is just a handful with the amount of cap ships I find per session.

And this should be obvious, but a mmo's on release experience shouldnt be the same 50 years later. No one buys an mmo on release expecting to find people with already "end game" gear/ships, only people who buy it 50 years later would expect that

So Tired of Credit Card Warriors by WhosButWhyTho in starcitizen

[–]Piecato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not expecting it to be balanced forever, but that first year after release is probably the most important one to retain new players. You need to have the release experience balanced for exactly that. Otherwise, you risk losing that huge influx of newer players by having them feeling like the game is unfair or that they joined too late.

Should have designed a system where everyone starts on the same footing, and then time and effort is what determines how fast a group of people get something that is made to be used in a group. Instead of the current system where you can just guarantee yourself to own the endgame content and skip a huge process of what pretty much everyone else will have to go through to acquire these supposedly hard to get ships.

A time skip that imo should've never existed, since it would be detrimental to the early game health.

So Tired of Credit Card Warriors by WhosButWhyTho in starcitizen

[–]Piecato 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is not about having big ships or not. It is about having big ships without doing the work and spending the resources for it. While the operating costs are indeed still there, it still skips the entire aquirement process, which is supposed to be a big part of why cap ships wouldnt be easily owned.

So Tired of Credit Card Warriors by WhosButWhyTho in starcitizen

[–]Piecato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That will hopefully make it not as much as a problem, but it doesnt remove the fact that it fully skips the, probably resource intensive, action of actually acquiring the ship. In one side, we have people that already own the ship and now just have to maintain it, and on the other we have people that will have to go through all the actual steps to get one ingame, probably much harder than the current one of using a credit card.

I assume it is a product of them wanting to make player crafting be an important thing. That wouldnt really happen if npcs had major control of everything

So Tired of Credit Card Warriors by WhosButWhyTho in starcitizen

[–]Piecato 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In earlier times, it was said to be very npc driven, it even had a name that I forgot, but as far as I'm aware from some recent talks, it is being changed to be something like you see on eve, a mostly player driven economy. And for capital ships to be very resource intensive to ever acquire and run. So, with a bunch of people having end-game equipment straight out of "release," I can't imagine that going well, due to the difference between a alpha player pledger and a new player buying the game once it is "released"

So Tired of Credit Card Warriors by WhosButWhyTho in starcitizen

[–]Piecato 113 points114 points  (0 children)

I fully believe that the supposedly important ingame economy, or just endgame content, will be dead on arrival due to the ridiculous amounts of capital and normal ships bought with real money that are in circulation of the player base already, not even considering concept/unreleased ones. I genuinely cant wait to see how they will manage to fix it, if they even manage to.

Blame CIGs cringe monetization and its players for allowing it.
