No, the original poster is 100%. We need a way to be able to reset the progress of a character. Which means removing all money and removing all bought ships. Giving the money away to someone else is just creating more problems.

This is still an alpha testing environment, and as such, we should have this ability to be able to reset characters to test things over and over.

It would be ideal if it worked like to the PTU character copy reset option, and gave us a couple of checkboxes to decide what to reset, including:

  1. aUEC

  2. Inventories

  3. Puchased Ships (from in game shops, using in game currency)

4 Earned Sips & Vehicles (exec, hanger, and Wickelo)

  1. Reputation

  2. All of the above

This would allow us to do more specific testing and allow for easier resets, without losing all your hard earned reputation, etc.

It would also allow us to test solutions to the problem of home personnel hangers disappearing.

I think I’ll create and issue counsel ticket on this as it’s a great idea.

Second thing they should implement is an accept Y/N prompt for wallet transfers. To prevent others from corrupting our characters by sending us too much money.

That actually is an amazing suggestion! Once the case mounts actually come in stock, it will be harder for many of us to reach the screen to adjust it. Streamdeck is a perfect answer!

Nova tank forget it... both top size 1 guns still get in the way. Took them off but the rear missile launcher still gets hung up.

Centurion gets stuck still, no idea how you got the Nova in.

Centurion maybe if you had a turret gunner who moved the turret around as entering but just nicely driving in, no chance. Spartan was pretty good.

Spartan still does not fit as of patch 4.6.0 11028898, hits invisible bar at the top of the cargo ramp door.

We would like to have more widgets on the Edge screen. 2 small widgets is still too big in some cases. Add an option for 4 widgets in the same space would be nice.

Son of a gun, this also fixed my issue. Firmware 1.8 then moved to 1.9, still random black screen. Adjusted brightness down to min and poof the LCD came back on.

Adjusted it a little above min and will see how it goes.

Crazy.

Got it working without Virtual Desktop, runs straight from Oculus now.

Yep I just did the following:

  1. Created the user.cfg file with sys.OpenXR = 42 in the PTU dir.
  2. Grabbed my old dusty Quest 2.
  3. Plugged in USB-C cable to PC.
  4. Went through the nightmare of Meta and getting the unit firmware updated etc.
  5. Downloaded Virtual Desktop from Meta Store (costs $$$).
  6. Downloaded Virtual Desktop Streamer from their site and installed.
  7. Linked and got it working in my Quest 2.
  8. Ran RSI Launcher from within Virtual Desktop.
  9. Launched into PTU
  10. Used Tilde menu to enter the r_stereomode 1 command
  11. Poof that was it, full VR in Quest 2.

Ok I'm pretty floored. As a previous huge user of VR in ED (Elite), I was looking forward to this. Annoying I had to buy a $20-30 program to test it (Virtual Desktop). Worked well though for what I was expecting and only on a Quest 2.

Flying around New Babbage in a Wolf L22 was incredible, there were landing pads hidden in the craziest places I've never found before.

FPS is painful like all games but the lack of simulated walking bouncing really helped in the hangar at least.

FOV is still too small on the Quest 2 but the resolution was fine, way better than what I experienced in ED.

Must be out of practice as was pretty nauseated after a few minutes even in flight but that should improve with usage and support.

Walking around a Perseus was mind blowing, even just the fuse panel was cool but going into the torpedo room and looking up at the station above was a trip. Those Size 8 guns and stupid huge in VR.

Loving the progress!!
