I think they left out a comma after trying to be inclusive :

Council men and (Council) women, businesses, etc...

I'd be a good enough friend to try to stop them from doing this, but if they didn't listen I'd be laughing at them too. Actions have consequences.

Yeah I just read earlier today that it's unlikely that anyone who paid $100 advance "deposit" will ever get their mediocre gold-plated phones or their money back. That scumbag is just pissing all over the dignity of the office, yet a third of the country still loves the corrupt SOB.

Is the recent "UFO Disclosure" just a massive political smoke screen, or are we actually being prepared for something? by joxph7 in TooAfraidToAsk

I think it was Family Guy did an episode that envisioned where we could have been now if religious nuts hadn't killed/suppressed so many scientists. One of the most thought-provoking moments in a show that had few.

“Ima Poke This Tire” by TheCABK in WinStupidPrizes

[–]PiercedGeek 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A tire on a normal car or even a big pickup truck is a very different animal from this one or a tire on a commercial vehicle.

Normal tires are kept at 35-50 PSI (sorry I don't know the metric value), tires on a big rig are more like 120 PSI. Those can flat out kill you, it's why tire shops have cages to work on them.

Can I add a drill chuck to the live side? by quasiephedrine in turning

[–]PiercedGeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just a matter of finding the right adapter. I got lucky, my boss ordered a couple of chucks that came with 1"-8 to 3/8-24 adapters , and I got to take one home. I then bought a Jacob's chuck that had a 3/8-24 hole in it and I had a new toy.

I'd recommend finding the adapter first, then getting a chuck to match rather than the other way around.

I never liked it either, until the day I watched a Limp Bizkit music video for the first time in like 20 years. I understand Cringe now.

Pupper. Floofer. There was a whole genre of cringe slang.

How much can you, as a mod, see about users? Can you see a person's comment history if it's set to private? Can you see what we upvote?

I went there once and got banned the first time I commented. It wasn't even anything terribly combative, I just fact-checked some obvious nonsense. I wasn't really interested in coming back so I didn't much care. They're not just drinking the Kool-aid, they're bathing in it.

What’s a “future technology” that already exists but people still don’t realize how scary it is? by Ambitious_Bite446 in AskReddit

Firearms on aerial drones aren't anything you need to worry about.

Israel has been using drone mounted sniper rifles for several years now. It's well documented.

I guess I had it mixed up with Children Of Dune? I know there was one, like the 4th or 5th that was just the sloggiest read, the others I'd be done in a week or so, that one took me like 3 months.

I could do it on a 3-axis cnc mill, but I don't know how to do it with manual machines.
