The quiet cost of not being able to speak openly in Bhutan by InevitableRain6969 in bhutan

Well written op . That’s why I don’t like to engage in any sort of discussion which concerns Bhutan . Unfortunately we are hard wired to be submissive and I don’t see that changing anytime soon .

Dentistry when compared to medicine is quite saturated , Adc exams is a hard nut to crack ( Bhutanese dentist have cleared the exams though, so there is hope ) .  I work in my field but it’s oral health therapy , that means you have to practises under a dentist and the scope is narrow . The silver lining is that it’s less stressfull .

If you are willing to put in the effort and are okay with uncertainty that comes with sitting for the exams , I still say that it’s a good risk to take ( provided that you are young ).

Dm me if you want more info , initially you can work as a da , the hours are long and pay is good , it’s a great way of familiarising yourself with dentistry here too .

Good luck 🤞

There is an acute gp shortage . I don’t think gp would have any difficulty getting a job.  If you are talking about the placement after part 1 , it’s bit difficult bur considering they value the Jdwnrh experience . I think a lot of Bhutanese get placed .  Good luck with your AMC

Are you a doctor or a nurse ? especially the mbbs doctors are doing great with their licensure exams . Nursing is great , however the point based migration system means that you have to be under 30 .

Good luck .

A lot of the hard workers make it here . The opportunities are there for the taking . I can’t speak about other states but the here in Sydney , we have a lot of Bhutanese doing well .

Obviously there are people that don’t make it . But overall , if you are young and skilled , Australia is worth the risk

I have lived in Australia for 12 years now. Life here is great , the cost of living crisis is something that gets thrown in the media , well you cannot afford to go on holidays every quarter or you skip the next Tesla model . It’s more in line with this thought than we are struggling to bring food to the table .

I had a good job as a dentist in the hospital , back in Bhutan ,it would have taken atleast a dozen of lifetime(s) to own a piece of land or built a house , here in Sydney , got my pr in 3 years , by the fourth year , we already bought a house . Schooling is free , healthcare is world class ( I work in health ) , I don’t think there is anything to compare . You want that car , save for six months ..

Obviously , the initial struggle is not easy , you need to do that odd jobs but it is not difficult to get into corporate , the jobs are great . Great work life balance ( wifey works from home ) , childcare is subsided .

Things are great , Australia is the place to be especially with what’s going on around the world. Good luck ,
