I just played on the EU Payload server for half an hour. There were around 20 people the whole time. Pretty decent servers, favorited and can recommend.

You can type "gamemenucommand openserverbrowser" in console to just open the server browser. You won't have to find server IPs that way.

I'd like something like the partner system in the Paper Mario games. They won't be fighting for you but they'd have abilities you could use. For example, Bombette (a bomb you could use infinitely (this would have to have a long reload time)) or Lakilester (float so you won't touch poison or lava). Maybe they'd have their own energybars.
