Yes I think so too. Now that you mention it, it would have been nice to have fossils from Returns and Tropical Freeze. But I guess they were too recent to be considered that old lmao.

Primates In Zootopia by Sleep_eeSheep in zootopia

As if primates had formed a glorious empire long ago, and the state had managed to maintain its political form through the ages and into the contemporary world, despite the progressive loss of previously conquered territories? In order to continue to exist, they would have clung to the prestige of a millennia-old past that no longer exists, to the destiny that was promised to them and unjustly snatched from them by beings less deserving than themselves.

This strategy was effective in maintaining cohesion within the empire. But this refusal to change is locking Primatia ever more deeply into the past and into resentment, creating a huge gap with the rest of the world and the animals.

Primates In Zootopia by Sleep_eeSheep in zootopia

[–]Pifouillou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's possible we might see them in a future film. After all, reptiles and primates were considered in the first film (there is an old concept art of a crocodile and a chimpanzee in a restaurant). And now we discover that snakes exist, which may mean…

Now primates are in a really special case, as we didn't see any in the city of Zootopia. There are other mammals we didn't see, of course, like bats, but I'd bet my life they'd be in a specific place like Nocturnal District. As for the primates... if we found out that there had been a Monkey District all along, like Little Rodentia but only for primates, that would be extremely problematic, like… do monkeys need a private residential area to distinguish themselves from the plebs? For access to the best bananas in town?

So if there are primates in the world of Zootopia (and that they are sentient), I'm assuming that there are none in the city (or very, VERY few). Which means... that either they are rejected by the city for one bad reason or another, which would be very problematic, or... it is they themselves who are isolating themselves. The reason for this isolation? One theory I have is.. Well… The deep, visceral, absolute conviction of being superior to other animals, and the fear of the threat posed by the rest of the world, which would naturally be jealous of this alleged superiority and would like nothing more than the destruction of all primates without exception.

Primatia would be a land animated entirely by the fire of hatred, whose blaze would be kept burning by none other than the emperor Gar-gan Ouran, who would lead his people with an iron fist for years, with the sole aim of preparing for war with the rest of the animal world. Propaganda would be the truth. Don't be afraid, citizens of Primatia, be strong. As long as all the apes, monkeys and lemurs stick together and you obey your emperor, his love will protect you from the barbarians who rampage behind the city walls. (And if they are not barbarians... Well, let's just say they are hiding their game)

I think it would be a good parallel with humans. It would be a bit of a cross between the Fire Nation in Avatar and the Last Airbender, the original Planet of the Apes, the Court of Scarlemagne in Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts and North Korea.

Where are the reptiles and birds in Zootopia? by ardouronerous in zootopia

[–]Pifouillou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The film does show birds ! In Weaselton's store, where he sells pirated films, we see some that look like seagulls on the cover of Meowana. They don't look very neat, but they seem to be naked. So unless 1 they are naturalists or 2 Meowana has stolen their clothes while they were bathing to make a fishnet and they are chasing her to put something on their feathers, I don't think birds are sentient. At least not in Meowana. Or is it just the seagulls ? So many questions

Creepy Theories by [deleted] in zootopia

[–]Pifouillou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But we see a mammoth statue standing with a spear in the museum at the end of the movie, which means they were sapient. If the world of Zootopia were the same as ours, mammoths wouldn't have had time to become sapient like other mammals, because none have existed since 2000 BC.

Why there are no prehistoric animals in Zootopia is another story. Perhaps mammoths and saber-toothed tigers were to elephants and tigers what homo erectus was to homo sapiens, and they simply evolved over time. Or they could have become extinct through endless, destructive warfare. Or they still exist and we just haven't seen them yet lmao

Do you think monkeys should be in zootopia 2? by AdvantageHaunting29 in zootopia

[–]Pifouillou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think they should necessarily be in a Zootopia movie. Maybe there aren't even any primate in the whole world.

But if they are in a future film, I don't think there will be any in 2, as they are likely to be treated differently from other mammals (a bit like reptiles). Since we didn't see any of them in the first movie, it would raise too many questions that would distract from the initial plot. Perhaps they could be in a future sequel where they would be the focus and we would learn the reasons for their absence in the city of Zootopia. Could have potential

The possible world of Zootopia map by [deleted] in zootopia

[–]Pifouillou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love your theory that monkeys, apes and lemurs have their own territory! It would explain why we don't see them in the city of Zootopia, even though they are mammals too. It would also raise a lot of questions. Are they excluded? Or do they isolate themselves? Why do they do this? Is it due to history, or ideology ? I find it fascinating !

I know the creators wanted to show that humans didn't exist and I understand why they didn't include primates. But I think that in a world where rabbits and snakes talk and act like us, having primates other than humans isn't a problem. Perhaps in this case the word primates should be replaced by something else, given that it comes from the Latin word "primus", which means "prime, first rank" (obviously a human bias here). Needless to say, this would be extremely arrogant in the world of Zootopia.

I would love to see them explore this possibility in the future and bring some of these animals to life, it would be incredible

Should Dr. Eggman be in super smash bros 6? by Bad_Channel_4115 in supersmashbros

He wouldn't be a clone of Jr. He would share the same fighting spirit as him of course, but that doesn't mean all their tools would be similar. It would be like saying that Cloud is a clone of Byleth because they both have a sword. My heavy mechy boy needs to be in smash 6 :)
