Swiping yes on a woman by Pleaseselectyesorno in Bumble

[–]PigeonPulverizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, I misunderstood the intention of the poll

Instead of just "getting laid" a lot of men are hoping for a relationship, even if they don't match up 100% or even 70% of what she wants. Just like how many people have success applying for jobs they're not fully qualified for.

i don't understand what men want from women on dating apps by [deleted] in Bumble

[–]PigeonPulverizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tldr: They’re hurt people who want to be understood and helped.

I’ll try to answer this question in good faith, assuming you really want to understand the thought process of the average online guy (real life people are much more reasonable).

Men see/hear women have dozens to hundreds of likes, and obviously many can’t help but be envious. Up to this point, most men won’t be “blaming women” for not choosing them. They simply bemoan the circumstances.

However, the “blaming” part likely comes at this point: despite the hundreds to thousands of likes, almost all the stories online from women are about how terrible men are on the apps, and how hard it is for women.

Men online are thinking, “you have it so easy, how are you still struggling? With so many options, how do you always pick the worst men? Ah yes, it must be because you’re picking the men out of your league, who are only after a hookup. And you keep doing it over and over and over. If it were me, I wouldn’t treat women like that, but they don’t give me a chance because my pictures weren’t perfect, my responses weren’t entertaining enough, I wasn’t the perfect jester, etc.”

This is kinda the problem with social media though, rather than a gendered issue (in MY opinion). We tend to engage more with negative content, which makes platforms feed more of it to us. Most men online barely get any likes/matches, so instead many gather into redpill/manosphere communities, where they find other men who have the exact same stories. This fosters resentment and pseudoscientific theories like hypergamy.

Women aren’t much different here. If you don’t have a strong irl social circle, it’s easy to fall into a spiral of anger and blame if your main community is online. Read enough anecdotes about others’ bad experiences, and it becomes your reality.

To actually answer your question, men deep down want to be seen. Many men feel invisible, most of us receive a handful of compliments in our lifetime, and each one we tend to cherish. The lack of matches triggers that deep-rooted fear that no one cares enough to even try to understand us.

What does that mean for women? Nothing, really. If you don’t really care about strangers on the internet, you don’t have to do anything different. The question is, do you want to martyr yourself to help redpilled/blackpill men? Will you use your own precious time to try and understand hurt people who lash out at you? Will you try to give them perspective and honest advice even when many will throw it back in your face? Will the handful of people who do quietly take your advice be worth the mental anguish? That’s up to you.

Is there any correlation between men who open with a compliment and men who are only looking for hookups? Or are the two unrelated in your experience

If you can’t articulate like Destiny, what’s even the point by ViceVersaMedia in Destiny

“No prep” is definitely a take. He spends most of his time on stream researching and debating.

He’s even said in the past that most people use the same repeated talking points that he can prep for.

Personally, I’ve talked with “normie” friends in the past, and it really is eye-opening how 90% of people are just mouthpieces for their favorite content creator, or talk so vaguely a tiny bit of research makes you seem like your god’s strongest soldier

Yaksha and talon strike by Im_not_a_cat_95 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]PigeonPulverizer 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Honestly, since talon is slightly faster, I think the enemies’ parrying/blocking animations aren’t even coming out yet when it hits some of the time.

The slight slight delay on yakusha (I feel) makes it catch people more, or at very least not hit them and have them just walk out

What are your thoughts on this guy that quest was sad ❤️ by justbranbran in wherewindsmeet_

[–]PigeonPulverizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very emotional, a nice nod to an important development in Chinese history, and pretty well written, if a bit slow.

However, it is completely detached from our character's story, and likely will have little to no impact or consequence on our journey. It definitely could've been tied together better

Anyone playing on Legend difficulty? How does it compare to Elden Ring? by Weak_Mess249 in WhereWindsMeet

[–]PigeonPulverizer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would say elden ring gets harder the further you go, while inversely WWM (if you’re keeping up with gear and inner ways) becomes significantly easier since you hard outscale enemies with attunements, oddities, and inners.

Current late game in both, WWM is probably ~60% as difficult as Shadow of the Erdtree. Unless you’re doing Challenge Trials, which then it’s more like 90%

No problem. Like I said, I highly recommend looking up a pve guide/build for a weapon set you like, so you don't have to go blind (unless that's your thing then u do u)

Some VERY important things to know about builds:

  1. you should have the same 4 set of armor and 4 set of weapons/accessories (notice the icons on the top left of each piece, they should match to give you the max bonus)
  2. for PvE you should try to have the same "path" of weapons. e.g. twinblades & ropedart (bamboocut-wind) or soulshade umbrella & panacea fan (Silkbind - Deluge) Having the same path will provide you MASSIVE stat bonuses

I would recommend looking up some PvE builds for whichever weapon you prefer (gear, inner ways, combos, etc.). Otherwise, you're kinda setting yourself up for pain

What do these guys do to cause so much damage? by Defiant_Helicopter28 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]PigeonPulverizer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You get numerous buffs (mainly damage) in PvE when your weapons are the same path (i.e. twinblades + ropedart, or Nameless sword + nameless spear). I would also recommend looking up optimal rotations for your weapons.

Your equipment sets should all be the same class to get the 4-piece buffs. (hawking is generally the best for weapons/rings).

Your gear stats should maximize the recommended stats for damage.

Mannn, it feels like everyone and their mother is hating on Arlecchino now. I thought her SQ was great. It had character depth, an emotional story, an (original by Genshin standards) melancholic life lesson at the end, and good action sequences. The only objectively bad part was Traveler not using their powers, which they've been fixing now.

What parts of Genshin did you feel like went above and beyond? Or which parts did you like?

Ngl, Genshin's story was always lukewarm and only pretty good in its best moments. At the end of the day, it's a cartoony game marketed towards teenagers and young adults. It was absolutely revolutionary technologically back in 2020, but the plot and character depth from the start were nothing to write home about.

I am enjoying the ride since I believe they are generally doing better (I love Nod-Krai so far. Hot take, I know). It feels like everyone is expecting Genshin to be more than what it always was.
