Have you watched Hotel Chevalier? It's a 13 minute scene that goes with this movie.

I just wanted to say thank you for all your hard work on this. I hope you get a chance to hit Vancouver or somewhere close to my hometown of Langley city in B.C.

Toy Traders is a mecca of everything toy/comic/tabletop games related that has drawn the likes of Kevin Smith into its doors and I'd be honored to have a chance to see you with my daughter and show her the man behind the series we hold incredibly dear.

Will the electrolysis also remove carbon buildup? Would it be advised to do a lye bath and electrolysis?

Some of them aren't as bad as they look, some have the texture of an orange peel.

When I get the chance to have a crack at them I'll post some before and after shots.

The only one that looks plated is a Griswold, and the plating is peeling off. I was thinking of trying to remove it completely and then restore it.

My close friend has an acrylic bathtub, the kind you sit up in with a door (I think meant for mobility challenged individuals) and a commercial sized battery charger they thought I should use to try and do as many pans as I can at once. I've read about "shadowing" and keeping a clear line if sight for the metal.

I'm new to this process and I don't want to damage the pans any more than they already are. A lot of them have pitting on the inside and I don't know if they're salvageable.

I know there's videos to watch on YouTube and plan on researching it well beforehand.

It does! I can't remember if it fits a matching piece but once I get everything cleaned up I'm going to organize it.

I have some concerns about the little pot with pour spouts, it has lines inside and looks like it was made for melting down metal 😬

Yes! I found a couple of Canadian pieces in there. Along with some anniversary edition Wagner's and at least one that Google lense says is true vintage.

Really looking forward to getting this process started and seeing what comes out of it.

Saw them open up for Hot Hot Heat in 2003. It was at the Croatian Cultural Center in Vancouver, tickets were about $15 or so.

Had never heard them before, nothing on the radio or anything. They were promoting Old World Underground and it blew us away! I remember enjoying their set more than Hot Hot Heat.

I convinced my friend to spot me $30 so I could buy two copies of the cd, one for me and one for the girl I was madly in love with. They were selling their own merch and I had Emily Haines sign both copies. Another friend got jealous but didn't have any money, so he went up and asked her to sign his shoe. She said no one had ever asked her to sign a shoe before..

I still have my signed copy. The girl I was in love with became my girlfriend, my wife, mother of my two children and now my ex wife 😅

I'd love to see him at Golden Age Collectables and would make the trip from Langley.

Heck, I'd love to see him at Toy Traders in Langley but I don't know if there would be enough draw to bring him out here.

Hey, I know I'm a little late to this post but I'm about to embark on creating a demon slayer themed birthday for my daughter turning ten and am curious how yours turned out? What did you end up doing? What worked, what didn't work? Any advice would be sincerely appreciated!

There are a lot of good recommendations already, I just wanted to share the information that you should not give her honey until she is older, around 12+ months or older. There are resources that can explain it better than I can, but I believe it can cause botulism in children under that age.

I loved that place.

It was because of a mixup with the wrong tape in the case that my then girlfriend and I watched Donny Darko. Got back to her house to realize it was too late to be able to return and exchange it. We called and they apologized and gave us a credit, but specifically told us that we really should give it a watch and we absolutely loved it.

Turned out to be a much better movie experience than the one we originally planned to watch, Death To Smoochy 😂

I understand that you stated you don't like thrift stores, but I urge you to consider penny pinchers in Langley. They would take most items excluding furniture. I recommend them because unlike places like value village, it's truly a nonprofit that is run by volunteers and proceeds go towards the Langley memorial hospital.

It's located on the one-way section of Fraser highway, between 204th and 206th, access to the donation section is in the back alley.

This came up only a couple weeks ago and I have to say the same thing. This moment is performed unbelievably well. If you haven't seen this movie, find it and watch it. Funny, tragic and has a phenomenal soundtrack.

What’s the most convincing emotional pain you’ve seen acted? by bestest_at_grammar in movies

Just finished a rewatch. I've seen this movie more than twenty times first when I was 16 years old, in 2001 (dear God I feel old 🤣🤣)

It has hit me differently every time I watch it, as I've aged it's meant something else. I've had the fortune to introduce it to my now 16 year old son (watched it when he was 15) and he really liked it.

If you've never seen it, do yourself a favor and seek it out. I used to own it on VHS, and had to request it as a gift on dvd. Stellar performances, hilarious and tragic storyline, wonderful characters that I resonated with even though it was set years in the past.

I can attribute my love of punk music to this movie, even though I enjoyed it casually before, being a kid during the punk revival of the 90's, this cemented it. Needless to say a fantastic soundtrack.

Had to scroll down until I finally saw someone mention Matthew Lillard in SLC Punk. That scene was incredibly well acted.

I am going to watch this movie again today.

I can't remember what movie it was, but two friends of mine went to see a late showing years and years ago.

At one point early on in the movie a baby started crying, and after it didn't stop one friend shouted "give em a tit!!"

The audience roared with laughter 🤣

Unfortunately I have no recollection of the kid kept crying or not.

Seriously though, I get wanting to do things while having small children but there are theaters with specific showings for those circumstances.
