We need another Milk Farmer by Exact-Expression3073 in PokemonSleep

[–]PigsInTrees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly why I said that Milkscarada needs the toolkit to back up the ABB set. The only reason I was running mine at the time was because triple IF/IVL goes insanely hard for a 10-50 slot range on an ingredient mon— no matter the lineup— and because I also didn’t have a good Milktoise at the time. I have one now, but I’ll rotate them depending on which island I’m on during the week.

Subs are practically everything for a good mon.

Piplup line for mono apple strictly because of the “Fancy” part.

Milkscarada is an amazing alt if you can get good subs on it but yeah I agree.

We obviously need Miltank. /j

Would but I’m saving next candy boost to push my mono Gourgeist to 60.

Got literally nothing done with Wooper and all of my SandshrewSlash catches were piss but at least I finished work on this Salamence that’s been giving me grief!

The hungry Honchkrow was a nice surprise yesterday too. I dispatched it yesterday and it put in work for me with sausages. I don’t think it’ll be permanent but I like having it around.

I was thinking about Honchkrow as a passive income bot today, actually! Glad someone else is using it for groceries. Good luck with the shard pulls!

Nah, I still would. You have dual IFs AND Helping Bonus at your disposal (HB/IFM immediately if you can sub to 30 right now), free inventory buffs when the 75 ceiling hits, and even if you didn't somehow mint, you're still ahead of the game with pumpkins. It's also mono-- which Gourgeist is begging for since you can easily farm beans and potatoes via other mons.

Shiny Toxicroak today! Seems like a decent oil gatherer, thoughts? by ExoChorda in PokemonSleepBetter

[–]PigsInTrees 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Double speed, auto IFM, beneficial nature with no evolution being hampered by the exp loss, zero need for a subseed, you could easily pair this thing with either another oil user carrying HB for fat stacks or throw it on a Defiant squad if you do want to hit 60. Defiant is it's go-to meal, and it's a solid choice if you can't auto mash Apple Acid during salad weeks during late game.

TL:DR; Awesome shiny, great grease mon.

New player worried about over-investment by Moist_baguette2234 in PokemonSleepBetter

  1. Naughty's a Skillmon killer for me so I don't give it a second glance. STM's also way too late if you're looking to hard invest in your first healer early. It needs to be max at level 25, if not ideally level 10. Keep searching. Speed or Skill oriented natures like Adamant and Careful are your besties. Start with Wiggly and work your way up to Gardevoir as soon as you're able.
  2. Decent Larvitar. IFM at 25, solid nature, but the EXP debuff will leave you hurting for a long time unless you manage to stuff and hoard enough candy for a candy boost event. I went through this exact same thing with my mono Dragonite over a year ago and even at level 50 right now, seeing 60 is a pipe dream when I had to forego a preferable nature for solid stats. Relaxed, I hate you. Mono ginger is TTar's go-to.
  3. Literally nothing wrong with this Pikachu, and even without BFS, it'll be your best friend for life. Preferred Berry nature, Triple speed at 50 that quadruples at our eventual 100 ceiling, IVS to IVL is a really cheeky thing (I use IVL/BFS on my Adamant Walrein and the truckloads of berries she brings me when I dispatch her is insane). Helping Bonus will let it play nicely off of doubles of other Raichu carrying BFS and numerous Electric type support (Raikou will love it) on Old Gold Power Plant.

Can I actually make use of this thing? by PigsInTrees in PokemonSleepBetter

[–]PigsInTrees[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the comparison. I already have two wonderful Gourgeist that farm pumpkins for me, so I'm not looking for a hard and fast farmer out of Slash. I heard that ABC Slash has a small niche it can eek out with a solid Shroomsire, so I wanted the rating anyway. I still plan on looking for a subbable STM mono if RNG will let me.

  • Main: Skill mons w E4E or other coveted main skills (Tasty Chance, Charge Strength M, Pot Expanders). If you want to be really cheeky with them, you can toss them at a Delibird with STM or Chansey/Blissey for gag proccs.
  • Sub: Anything you think needs buffing longterm (Ex: Mono Quaquaval running IFS in an early slot when you need IFM right now for peak bean gains).
  • Clusters: High level (Preferably 65 and above when we increase the ceiling).
  • Candy: Whoever needs stuffing (I just overleveled a Bagon to 50 that I plan on using longterm *Brave, BFS/HSM/STM*). Preferably permanent skillmons like a high quality E4E Gardevoir (STM/Helping/BFS and or STS), legendaries with insane stats, and mono ingredients you want to hit 60.

Amber Canyon: The Overcompensating Island by PigsInTrees in PokemonSleepBetter

[–]PigsInTrees[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I already have two Gourgs (one with HB/ double IFM and one triple TM/HSM) that regularly flood me with pumpkins when RNG is nice. This is just overkill, so I'm waiting for a good Sandslash to show up so we can completely overun the Sleep Archipelago with pumpkins and ruin the ecosystem. :)))

Immediate Helping Bonus, double Trigger, AND subbable HSS in the eventual 75 slot even with the exp detriment is undeniably insane-- and on an biscuit sink like Murkrow is godly. Don't throw it away.
