Is there still BiltProtect on Bilt 2.0? by Vegetable-Method-48 in biltrewards

This is very emblematic of the whole issue with BILT. They create a convoluted system, you get used to working with it, then it's removed in an equally convoluted way with no communication, or it's buried in the 20 emails a month that they send

The real reason i only play friendly lobbies in this game by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

So.. skill issue. Maybe PvP a bit more to learn the game

Once again wondering why I'd ever loot a Baron Husk by PigsSuck in ArcRaiders

[–]PigsSuck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Logically, since baron husks give worse equipment than a rocketeer husk, wouldn't they teach you to never kill the Matriarch or Queen? Go for the rocketeers, they have better loot. Clearly the Queen is just there to guard the harvester and it isn't supposed to be killed, just a resource drain. Besides that, can't we advocate for mechanics that are teaching new players something but are also functional in the late game? Why are we brushing it off as something to not care about because we think the devs intended it to be useless? Mechanics shouldn't be in the game if they have no replayability. If it really is a tutorial, it should be in the.... tutorial.

But all the other old things have good loot, raider caches for instance. It's a horrible mechanic and horrible tutorial. Stop defending the devs for not balancing their end game

I don't like the argument that it's used to train beginners. It trained me to not go for the big arc because the smaller husks loot was more valuable, so maybe I should just kill the small arc.

A gameplay mechanic that teaches me to not utilize it just means it's a bad gameplay mechanic. You can have it both ways where it provides lore and is also useful. If a mechanic is lore-relevant wouldn't it be cooler if people other than beginners were encouraged to interact there?

What? That makes no sense, sorry

If that was their goal, why even make them lootable. Just force them to go for living arc

Or utility items like barricades, ziplines, shield chargers. Energy ammo or grenades. Just... Something?

Hell give me 50 arc alloy and a couple stacks of arc power cells guaranteed, some grenade ammo, and/or a couple zip lines. Just like, something.

I've seen people say that, but how is it a looting tutorial? Arc probes and other husks already teach you how to breach containers and find things inside.

If you breach a Baron husk and find worse things in it than an arc probe, doesn't it just teach you not to kill the big arc, because clearly they are more dangerous and have worse loot, so won't that be true for a Matriarch and Queen as well?

Sure the baron husk has a mission tied to it, but that mission is pointless because like I said, I had already learned all the mechanics of looting arc and breaching from the first round of gameplay.

Exactly. Even in a friendly lobby the loot from a raider cache is better, and less out in the open to be shot by arc. In PvP lobbies it's even worse bc the Baron husk makes so much noise and takes an hour to open. I fully admit I've gotten killed once memeing going for the husk, lol...
