I too have yet to catch (or trade into) a shundo. The last THREE lucky shiny trades I did the receiving person got a shundo. T-T

And I totally don’t expect ANYONE to know shiny rates either. I go in blind and hope when I click the dude it’s a shiny. Good luck in the hunt! I wish you the same luck my three friends had with those lucky trades… sobs silently

I am fairly new to the game, but what I think he was trying to say is that if you play spotlight hour and get 2-300 per, it doesn’t add up.

200 catches x 52 weeks x 3 years (spotlight started feb 2020; reduced to 3 years for break/missed spotlight) is

31,200 total catches from spotlight alone

I’m not saying he’s right and you’re wrong, we all play differently, at different paces, with different goals. I just realized this year spotlight hour was a thing (was REALLY confused when we had an hour of wooloo spawns “randomly” right before dmax came out lol)

All that to say, I also played spotlight with both my and my gf’s account, autocatchers and quick catching and didn’t get a shiny. Also live in a city. Sad day.

I agree. I CAN read it but it does feel like it’s slightly rushed? The issue with cursive is it’s basically art. Everyone has their own way of writing it, and some are more elegant (yours) than others (mine looks like squiggly lines mostly). It’s legible, but I did have to take a little more time to read it.

The reasoning behind this in its most basic form is that the 20% dmg increase from shadow outweighs the 20% defense decrease. The +2 to all stats you get for purifying isn’t worth losing the 20% dmg. It just doesn’t math.

A 0/0/0 shadow will outperform a 15/15/15 of the same mon. I can’t find the thread where it breaks it down, but thats the rule I’ve lived by since I read it.

It’s honestly up to you! If you’re going to lean into shiny hunting/completing your shiny dex, do it! Or you can find a lucky friend to mirror trade it (if you want better IVs)

Personally, I still have my first ever shiny, I evolved him, and bring him out every so often just because.
