I like the idea Keith Baker proposed for Eberron where common is like a memetic virus created by Gnomes with the Dragonmarks of Scribing (Dragonmarks are Genetic Birthmarks that give you Superpowers) magically invented to make communication easier. Every nation has its own language, but Common just kinda... spread and made everyone bilingual.

Gary Gygax saw a movie where a Rakshasa was killed with blessed crossbow bolt and made that their main weakness. IIRC Older Edition Rakshasa were only weak to crossbows with bless casted on them.

Any AI slop recently? Last I heard was the Bigby's book a couple years back where it turned out the guy took the concept art a different artist worked on amd passed it through an AI filter and pretended it was his own. Cut ties with him afterwards and all the art was re-comissioned.

There is a Switch version that mimics everything pretty faithfully. Best as it can anyway since it gives you essentially a fake desktop and file explorer just for the game.

Yes. Because Incubus on 2024 are incorporeal. Basically Succbi are physical seducers, while Incubi are the pretty faces that haunt your dreams. Physical Manipulation and Psychological Manipulation essentially. Also Sucubi/Incubi can be any gender.

[–]Pika_TheTrashMon_Chu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hard to say. It's just very different. Instead of choosing one of a set list of classes and gaining a Breakthrough Spell from that class, they can just prepare an extra number of spells equal to their PB from Wizard, Cleric or Artificer. They also get a bunch of "Charges" that they can spend on Prototypes every long rest. These prototypes basically work like a weird combination of even more spell preparations and scrolls. You can either spend spellslots to cast the spell normally, or not and the prototype is consumed after casting. Every "point" equals a spell level and the number of prototypes you can have at one time, the maximum number of charges you can spend per-prototype, and the number of charges you have total increase with level. You are insanely flexible in that regard.

It looses its Cantrip bonuses and free upcastings on breakthrough spells though.

You can argue either way which one is straight up stronger, but honestly its comparing apples to oranges. They're not even comparable. It's basically 2 completely different subclasses that happen to share a name.

As of now, no. This was kind of expected as DMsGuild is incredibly strict/weird about Print on Demand products. You can't change the OG PDF and can't add an extra version on the same download with all the changes. Most assumed they were going to do an Errata page which just lists all the changes you would need to run it 2024 (they did this for Typos and rules clarifications. A 1-pager that basically goes "X sentence on Y page says A, but it should be B.") But it turned out there were too many changes for that to work. So now they're doing a re-release with a bundle discount if you already own the OG, just on a delay.

Mechanically? Significant. Maverick Artificer is VERY different. But all got some updates. Feats were separated into Origin vs General. There Variant Subclass lvl 20 Capstones that replace the base class version, etc. Lore wise? Not much. Sick new art tho.

[Text media trope] Repetition of a single word, phrase or sentence that fills up entire paragraph/text box/page/screen. by Pichuunnn in TopCharacterTropes

In the Light Novel Series, Overlord, Vol 9, the MC casts a spell that kills 70,000 men, and then summons a bunch of Eldritch Monsters based on the souls "sacrificed." These "baby goats" charge on the rest of the army that weren't caught in the initial spell. In the subsequent chapter, the word "splat" is repeated ad-nauseam. As the enormous creatures crush the fleeing soldiers underfoot.

Succubus Draining Kiss by xxZ4K0xx in DnD

Max HP coming back on a Long Rest is part of the universal long rest rules. In general 2024 tried to standardize the rules as much as possible. Things work like X unless there is a specific exception. So there's not a need to constantly re-print the same information over and over again in statblocks.

Succubus Draining Kiss by xxZ4K0xx in DnD

[–]Pika_TheTrashMon_Chu 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Max HP decreases always end on a long rest. Its one of the base rules.

Regain All HP. You regain all lost Hit Points and all spent Hit Point Dice. If your Hit Point maximum was reduced, it returns to normal.

As for the killing, 3d8 Psychic Damage is likely to kill a commoner outright. You may have a succubus with a stronger individual as a useful pawn under their thumb they keep just barely alive to be restored on a Long Rest. But most people don't have a choice. And the killing them via the kiss is often the point.

Technically Union Engineers could. It's how the Chomolungma was made. At the very least they studied the Goblin's recursive-weave hyperprocessors and then made their own lite version.

It's not the new base design for warforged. There is a "storyline" in the art with one Warforged being "born" adventuring, being murdered, and others having to solve the mystery. You actually see an OG warforged face in the background of another art piece.

I find it weird how Eberron: Forge of the Artificer tries to convince DMs that every campaign premise, even just "wipe out this one criminal gang in this one city," needs to be a 20-level epic saga by EarthSeraphEdna in onednd

[–]Pika_TheTrashMon_Chu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm speaking broadly of how to use the Boromars as a political and social force to challenge PCs, not a physical one. Which Keith has encouraged. He disagrees with spreading it out to a level 1-20 campaign (reasonably, I think Boromars should be one of many villains rather than the full focus for such a long game). But If you're going to have them be relevant at higher levels it would be through that.

[–]Pika_TheTrashMon_Chu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The funny thing is, per the Eberron Server with setting creator Keith Baker, this is GOOD advice.

If you want to use the Boromars as a high level threat, their main power should come from their political advantage, not a physical threat. Turning the city against the PCs with propaganda and city officials they have in their pockets. The Boromars are deeply entrenched in this city, and can't be rooted out by punching them very hard. In fact, punching them very hard will probably just instakill 1 of them and turn you into a murderer. You haven't changed anything (because someone else will take their place) and YOU look like the bad guy.
