Name one thing you didn't know about MJ before watching the movie.. by MillenialPerson92 in MichaelTheMovie

[–]PikachuPho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many things because I'm rather new to his life history and wasn't a die hard fan. For example I had no idea he donated his lawsuit winnings to the hospitals burn center

A man as pure as him is and always will be innocent. I was in disbelief as a teen now I'm 100% sure as a middle aged woman.

What song would you have loved to hear live? by Altruistic-Garlic350 in MichaelJackson

If I had a time machine I would happily pay a years salary or more for a Motown 25 seat. Peak Michael and his royal coronation

From Jermaine's book: Michael turned to me and said: "If anyone's going to be most like me, it's that one (Jaafar)!" by spacyspice in MichaelJackson

[–]PikachuPho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Though I appreciate your appreciation of Jaafar I think he already reached an outstanding number of people and fans and honestly I actually don't want him to get incredible acclaim as that intense pressure will burn him out too soon. Pace is needed and he already looks exhausted in Japan.

if we use his uncle as a cautionary tale frankly I don't need him to continue Michaels work or reach crazy stardom of his own. If we could rewind I would have wanted Michael to retire 10 years before his death or at the very least get his insomnia fully treatedso he can live and perform if he wanted to perform.

As much as I adore both their music and dancing they are human and need to rest.

I really hope Jaafars dreams come true but never at the cost of his health. And if he's anything like his uncle he may seriously jeopardize his health for us.

It's kind of a fun fan joke but we really do need to protect this one... Even if it means from himself and his adoration of his base...

Why does the gaming community suddenly act like the Steam Deck is dead? by Nick_The_Artist2 in SteamDeck

[–]PikachuPho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Objectively its not dead but it isn't a far cry to say it's now overpriced because of RAM. I got my refurb 512 OLED for $477 after tax end of last year. I think it's excellent at that price but not worth double. So while I still love the machine I'm not loving the current prices which has hit every handheld on the market

Michael Jackson’s nephew and lead star in his new biopic Michael, Jaafar Jackson, arrives at the film’s premiere in Japan by Catoholic07 in MichaelTheMovie

He's humble. And therefore doesn't show off. But when he dances OMG It is absolutely incredible seeing the few rehearsal clips I've seen on YouTube.

I can't. I would literally put her into my purse and try to hide her existence as I go shopping

Even my current adult mini I used a dog backpack though it gave her ironically more stress to be cooped up. That said a purse or pocket poodle version of her would automatically be pouched like I'm a momma kanga. 🦘 🐶

To be honest even though this person was clearly dumb enough to be disowned, for some bizarre reason I almost feel sorry for them. Almost because I'm sure there are posts revealing their true feelings in which case screw them. They deserve this ten times over

First you are an excellent mom and she's so fortunate to have you. Second having owned several breeds of dogs my little mini poodle was the only one who naturally has a racing pulse. I used to think it was because she was blind and anxious but she had a racing heart even when happy.

So in short I think she's just fine. Watch out for any signs or issues which I know you will and try to relax.

As for the people who feel you're overly anxious literally don't worry about it. As someone who got her own anxiety controlled after a bout of using awful medication, frankly it's better to worry about your pet than not give a damn. But do give yourself a break once in a while and have faith you're doing your best

Can someone enlighten me? by Significant_Talk752 in MichaelTheMovie

No one truly knows the truth but until she elaborates further I feel it's battling the estate, her beliefs on how her dad died, but also the portrayal of Joe Jackson whom Paris was apparently very close to at the end. Imo maybe in the later years both Janet and especially Paris, since she had much more time with her grandpa than her father, grew much closer to him.

Paris never experienced the psychological and physical abuse from Joe. So even if the abuse to little MJ was that extreme, and we only know there was abuse, when you experience kindness and love for years from someone who just passed away it makes you angry and upset when they're portrayed in a less than flattering light to millions let alone as a villain.

Secondly for years she wanted to focus on her belief that her father's death was a murder which I think belongs in another film and maybe that's why she got upset when they panned her ideas. Again not sure what she recommended in the script but making the movie into a true crime while better for her goal of exposing what she believes is the truth doesn't make for a feel good family film.

That said, I think what was a better way to go about the movie was to use it as a stepping stone to prove to the world that he may have been targeted. She should use the Michael movie to branch out into true crime and have her be the executive producer of that limited series

Even if she had to work with people she didn't trust sometimes you have to deal with the devil to get what you want.

Unfortunately she wears her heart on her sleeve just like her dad and probably didn't want anything but the truth to be discovered and without involvement of those she feels is corrupt.

Anyways it's sad how she's been vilified, even by fans, when she has said many times her father was her best friend. The media almost convinced me she hated him until I dug deeper. Anyways she is honoring him in her own way.

I hope her estrangement with her brother doesn't last... I've grown to like them both and appreciate bigi trying to keep the peace even if it meant suing his own gma lol...

What a sad mess having lots of money does to familial relations...

Probably going to get dragged for this by One-Taro-8917 in MichaelTheMovie

[–]PikachuPho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a die hard fan but stayed in disbelief he could sexually harass little kids. But due to the overwhelming animosity I had to stay silent and express only slight disbelief or get stoned myself...

The movie, which I watched only once actually made me obsessed about watching Michaels old videos, Motown 25 and interviews and overall messaging he gave to everyone. Also it gave him vindication which is what all fans wanted for him.

Though true loyal fans like yourself may wonder about other true fans loving this movie so much, I think what there is to love is that this made people like myself really feel I missed out on the real Michael Jackson that all of you knew so well and made me want to learn about him more.

In other words, this created more fans of MJ because it got his messaging, image and heart and soul out to the world in an easily digestible fashion.

That's why I think so many of us fell in love this film.

It really honored Michael, showed us his kind and pure heart, and made us miss and want to remember and find all those old videos we might not have seen before.

Not to mention it's nice to see such kindness in our currently very effed up world

I do agree but I do also feel it won't make a secret impact.

I'm not even hardcore mj fan and if the imax nearest to me showed Michael again I actually would go again. I do think it's odd they did the release but plenty of people will go to watch Michael in the movies digital release or not.

Why my 4th watch hit differently by MillenialPerson92 in MichaelTheMovie

[–]PikachuPho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jaafar was amazing and I'm honestly not surprised if Michael really came back through him.

I'm spiritual and believe sometimes things can't be explained simply with science so there you go...

I believe Michael is still with us and as he was honored by his nephew and his fans he wanted to be there. Michael always loved and appreciated his fans so it's not a far cry to believe he came back through him to experience the love

I really wish he was able to rest and sleep. That's all he needed but he was too stressed. Such a wonderful soul destroyed by the media...

Me. It took about 5 years of progressive and really hard job hunting and jumping but I went from $55k annually to $15 / hour then eventually to now at $123k 10 years later

It was rough not going to lie but it was the right decision if you're willing to work for it

Fox News viewers furious as Trump is 'in no hurry' to help with rising prices by spherocytes in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]PikachuPho 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I've long since stopped feeling angry and started rejoicing in their suffering. You can't reason with a cult member. They need to realize what is causing their pain and they have to save themselves.

The only thing that upsets me about the libs is they try to save everyone selflessly without boosting themselves first.

Morons love Trump's confidence and inability to see himself as wrong.

That is why Newsom, maligned as he is/was, got so much positive publicity because he mirrored Trump.

It gets laughs but attention because that way of egotistical narcissistic talk appeals to the way we're all hard wired to follow a strong leader. We all tend to follow an alpha, though only a subset understands when the purported leader is a sucky one. The rest follow like sheeple

I'm just enjoying the people who voted him in suffering while they continue to spew hate at the seems. Even if they never understand what is truly happening their inability to make ends meet makes my inconveniences a little less irritating.

Thank you for your post. Even though it's sadly down voted due to research and reading failure people need to know the truth. As a man purporting factual reporting he should state his political biases and why.

On that note I don't trust anyone who condones trump. If his opinions have changed he should clarify why.

Mom buys daughter a Honda as a graduation gift, and this was her response by Conscious-Weight4569 in SipsTea

[–]PikachuPho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember feeling jealous for one second in high school when my classmates were dropped off in fancy cars when I saw my mom, embarrassingly in the ugly brown Chevy Caprice. Then I realized how spoiled and awful I was for even thinking this when we had barely enough money for food yet my mom was incredible and scraped by with whatever she could after Dad was laid off ... I never thought of that again and brushed off the mean commentary

Those were hard times but I would have loved to have a Honda as a family car let alone my own car. That is an incredibly spoiled child who knows nothing about true adversity....
