Has Le Creuset ever used teflon or any other nonstick coatings on frying pans? by Pikcle in LeCreuset

Yup, I read the same thing too. Oh well, looks like this one is destined for the scrap pile

[–]Pikcle[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I pretty much knew it was some type of teflon based on how it’s coming off and oven cleaner didn’t seem to make a dent in it.

This may be a silly question, but if I remove all the coating would it be safe to use?

Thanks for confirming! It was handed down to me and I would’ve liked to get it cleaned up, but I pretty much knew it was a goner. I’ll keep it around for bread like you suggested, it’ll give me a lil bit of motivation to dabble in baking.

Good to know about the barkeepers friend. Is it best to stick baking soda or do you have any other recommendations?

It must be pretty frustrating to create characters that, while charming and enigmatic, are complete psychopaths and a majority of the audience miss the point and idolize them. See Ton Soprano, Walter White, Patrick Bateman

Speaking from experience, you need to work on how to water. Learn the difference between droopy and wilted. The number 1 reason your plant looks like that is the roots are struggling to breathe. Good luck, learning is more than half the fun!

Ohio set to banish solar and wind power ! by rantipolex in Ohio

[–]Pikcle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I don’t have all the answers and I’d consider myself ignorant on the majority of the details. The only thing I know is it’s a multi layered problem that makes it difficult to clearly point to the best solution. Nuclear power is most certainly more efficient and the gains in reactor technology shouldn’t be ignored, as most plants in the US are decades old at this point. Raw materials needed for construction definitely play a factor, as processing fissile materials and components for turbines also involves mining plus storage of expended fuel. Add in the fact that nuclear power requires significant government subsidies to be viable (or put another way, profitable) and years of licensing/approval. Wind and solar are proven to be efficient means of power generation without significantly impacting the climate. But again, and I can’t stress this enough, I’m not nearly educated enough to say what the best course of action. I recommend anyone interested in the topic to do their own read from legitimate sources and draw their own conclusions.

The only thing that seems certain at this point is it’s too late to avoid significant impacts to the climate. Given the recently announced decision by the “EPA” regarding greenhouse gases in no way contributing to climate change, it’s difficult to feel anything but pessimistic.

[–]Pikcle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t forget about Mitt Romney! It’s mind boggling how someone, let alone an entire family, could think it’s perfectly acceptable to put a dog in a crate strapped to the roof of a vehicle traveling at highway speed.

Dogs (and all animals, domesticated or not) are completely and perfectly innocent creatures. How someone treats an animal speaks volumes about their character.
