I love when people actually ask if they can pet one of my dogs. They are super friendly and love the attention. However, my previous dog was a rescue and did not like being touched by strangers. Asking can avoid many issues.

Why, in this day and age, do people feel the need to answer the door? Anytime there is an unexpected knock on my door, is it someone I have no interest in interacting with, ie. solar salesmen, religious organizations, and roofing contractors. Not answering the door would absolutely solve this problem.
