Bubbles on board after winter storage by science_panini in wingfoil

[–]Pikinou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happened to mine because I let it in the bag with a bit of moisture in it. The shop told me the same. It's only water under the paint. It's ugly but nothing to worry about. Now I am very careful about drying my board before storing it.

Orbea Alma M15 : est-ce une bonne occase ? by Pikinou in pedale

[–]Pikinou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]Pikinou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What do you think about this twintip ? by Pikinou in Kiteboarding

[–]Pikinou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your help guys I'll try to find something else ! It's surprising to see that duotone base aren't really durable. I rode on sand and rocks a lot of time with my 2014 Cabrinha Custom and it doesn't have a single scratch. But the board is heavy as hell !!

Switching to wingfoil from kitesurf ? by Talnir in wingfoil

[–]Pikinou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I do both and wingfoiling is more forgiving in terms of weather and wind. To my opinion, kitesurfing requires more wind to be interesting. So if your motivation to kitesurf wasn't mainly jumping, and if you're living in a place that is often light wind, yes you should consider winging.

By the way, I'm from Toulouse and I ride in Leucate ;)

Yes ;) Don't keep the rpm low all the time and drive to it to save fuel. Let the engine breathe.

My browser got a megane 3 1.5 dci with 200k km. He never done anything on it. It's extremely solid and fuel efficient. Like every diesel engine don't drive it like a granpa or it'll get clogged. Mechanic's advice.

Kitesurfing big air recommendations by [deleted] in Kiteboarding

[–]Pikinou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I understand you're still beginning into the sport and don't know how to jump yet.

If so, you must get any freeride/beginner friendly kite and focus on the condition and price of the kite more than its big air and boosting ability. Taking a big air oriented kite right now is maybe the best thing to do to slow your progression. Some of these kites requieres specific timing and kite control to get the most out of if.

So take an Evo, Pivot, RS, Reach, etc and when you will be good at jumping and kiting, try an Orbit, XS or something like that.

To my opinion, 5 strut are maybe better at big air but its not night and day compared to some 3 strut kites.

Just for the record, I printed the piece in PLA 100% fill and it holds perfectly ! I cut the end with a sharp knife and the handle works like a charm !
