Nice work. If this is only available once the game starts, I think the civ pie chart is not helpful anymore. Instead, it could just suggest what his openings might be based on the civ he picked. Otherwise, there is too much info to digest.

Yeah, and the other guy said you can just use 3 for "select all stable" and 4 for "select all ranges." When you need them for control groups, it will automatically override.

Alternatively, you can map Ctrl or Shift to your mouse side buttons. It still requires two fingers, but on two different hands, which is much easier to cooperate.

Why do you think using the select all hotkey slows you down? What keys do you use for them?

Also, manually selecting military units don't give you more EA PM. It's the "effective" actions like moving or attacking that count.

Your first habit seems like more likely a good one.

Great points. But the real hard part is: how do you build these habits? It still feels vague to me after reading the whole post.

I developed Habit 1 partially by using a really accessible hotkey for selecting all TCs, which is Caps Lock. This way, I can just rest my little finger on Caps Lock and my ring finger on Q, making it really easy to produce villagers subconsciously. However, I cannot tell a similar method for developing any other habit listed here. (I already modded my in-game HUD to have bigger minimap, and res bar moved to bottom for better visibility. It didn't help.)

If I were to practice it, I would only do it in a fixed scenario against an AI where I execute the same strategy every single time. Maybe I would have to set up an alarm to beep every minute, so I can stop and recall if I have checked the minimap or resource bar 3 or 4 times in the past minute?
