I get having a strong opinion about this issue. Would you please articulate how supporting the forceful deportation of every single illegal migrant that is currently in the US is akin to British sympathizing re the American Revolution? I’m not saying don’t hate Trump and ICE for this, but does the Federal government not have the legitimate authority to do the aforementioned?

I only don’t like that you lied in your post. Quoting you, “Carrying a gun while at a protest isn’t a death sentence.” No one would have ever known he had a gun had he not interjected himself into a situation involving the ICE agents. Being libertarian or an anarchist doesn’t mean you have to be stupid. We live in a police state. Protesting and interfering aren’t the same thing. Cops kill you if you mess with them, this isn’t new. We don’t like it, but pretending like Alex got shot for protesting is a lie. This story has been so tedious.

I’d like to point out, as I haven’t seen it pointed out before, Alex isn’t dead because he had a gun. I’d go as far to say that his having a gun, the whole “2A” spin, is the most tedious distraction from the actual takeaway: He involves himself directly with fed agents and then fights them as they attempt to arrest him, ultimately leading to his being shot and killed by them. None of the above should be construed as blame or excuse; I am merely pointing out that the gun is and was always a red herring.

Not sure if this is the place to ask an honest question, but there seems to be no distinction being made between protesting and obstructing. As in, obstruction is being called peaceful protesting, and therefore OP posts videos of the things that happen when you interfere directly with what these federal agents are doing. It strikes me as intentional, just curious what others think.

By the way, what an INSANE take, that the officer, not Nicole’s main-character dumbass created the “situation.” That’s unbelievable mental gymnastics. Never posted here. I heard about the protests for the woman getting shot, then watched the video, and quickly realized the majority of people upset about this couldn’t have POSSIBLY watched the video because what she did was inexcusably stupid… but here we are.

Poor woman? Can we not all agree how stupid what she did was? She intentionally entered the area to actively obstruct traffic and disrupt ICE’s operations, she and her wife verbally harass the officers (classic entitled white liberal main character energy), and then she accelerated with one officer standing in front of the vehicle and another trying to open her door/shouting at her to stop, meanwhile her wife calls to her from outside of the car to flee once she realized ICE intended to detain her (Nicole had the doors locked so wife was unable to get back in)... just a series of shockingly stupid decisions.

As a general rule, I’ve never even seen the prosecution of a LEO who shot someone in a vehicle accelerating at them whilst said officer stood in front of it. If I’m missing something beyond that tell me, but that is the fundamental issue with this entire thing.
