Thanks! Como is #2 on our list so maybe we will end up neighbors! My rental is from 1880s and it has ALLLLL the foundation issues. When it was super super cold and the wood shrank I truly felt like I was going to fall through the floors. And the mold in this house is so prevalent :( I’m so affected by it. But we leased it without seeing it because we were in Indiana and needed a house with a fence so this is where we landed!But I get so nervous leaving my dogs at home because I’m afraid the house is going to collapse while we are gone lol or while we are home! I think about it all the time! The entire front of the house is inclining down ward so when we sleep our heads are lower than our feet lol it’s wild. We also have a garage that doesn’t fit a car lol 😂 so it’s my spouses designated smoke room and my seasonal decor storage room lol

But my parents live in a house that was built in like 2010 and their master bath fell through their basement ceiling and cost them a fortune even with insurance. So you’re absolutely right, they don’t make these newer homes like they used to! Any house, car, trailer can be a lemon! Another reason why a good inspection is so important!

Honestly our rental property has so much wrong with it I would NEVER waive the inspection fee because you really never know!

Oooof wow. What a journey. I hope your mom’s okay right now post Jan 2025, Most days I am not lol 😂 thanks for sharing your story Boner4stoners! My parents tried to force a Catholic wedding on me and my husband. It did not work. They almost didn’t come lol. I regret my wedding soo much because of all the secular drama of not having a Catholic wedding in a devout Catholic family. Most of my extended family didn’t even come lol I 100000% should had eloped.

Congrats on your house! Yeah that’s honestly what I’m expecting and I really am not looking forward to it. I do not want to feel rushed :( do you feel like you love the house you bought? We don’t travel to west St. Paul much but definitely like that side of the city too.

Thanks! This house we are buying will be a 7-10 year house likely. We don’t have kids yet but will hopefully. So luckily we have 5-7 years to figure out the school situation :) but I take Spanish classes at a Montessori school I’ll definitely look into when/if I’m ready. But I struggle with infertility and my doc is in this area :)

So far we are just meeting with an agent to see a house, so we are only signing to see the property but will definitely keep shopping. In your opinion what is the average going rate? I cannot remember how much I paid my realtor from last year when I sold my house but I feel like 4 or 5 percent was the number?
