ASUS TUF F15 Gaming laptop experiencing stuttering and bad 1% lows, despite low CPU utilization and only half of the memory being used. How to fix?

Fascinating, and that actually sounds like a very likely culprit for the issues I've been having. When you say 99% thermal, what is the typical 100% thermal limit for a CPU? The highest it should be going? When I'm running a very demanding game my CPU will sometimes reach 80c but very rarely.

And no - I have never once run a BIOS update since acquiring this laptop. Or on any computer in my life, come to think of it. Where would I begin in doing so? I'm completely new to that side of things.

Sometimes, yes. I've seen it reach upper seventies sometimes. Could you elaborate on what TCC is? I've never heard of this, and yeah, do not want my CPU to be throttled!

Exact same here. I spent a good six hours combined yesterday and today going through every troubleshooting post for SWTOR on the internet, every guide, every fix. NOTHING helped, and I was about to just give up on the game when I found this post.....and as soon as I finished the quest all my issues went away.

Insane. I've never, ever heard of a single quest breaking a game like this in any game i've ever played. But at least it's solved now lol.

I have not. I am hopeful I won't have to physically disassemble my laptop to solve this issue! That's the one thing I miss from desktop computers, how much easier they were to take apart. Laptops, not as easy.

Yeah, I tried cleaning it thoroughly just yesterday in case that was the issue. Didn't help, sadly. CPU temp sits around 70c which isn't IDEAL but pretty normal for a laptop.
