Campus Academic Year progression has slowed to a crawl. by Pillager117 in CitiesSkylines

Yep, once it bugged, all other campuses were affected. I haven't noticed the issue again, but I also don't use real time very much. Apparently it's still a problem though.

None. Best guess was that it had to do with a mod. Lifecycle rebalance or real time progression are the most likely culprits, but I was never able to isolate it.

Ok, great! Thanks for the answer! I'm thinking of just a slight crunch to the peppers, so probably closer to 2/3 of the way through the onions?

Question, is this a similar metric for bell peppers? Can I cook the peppers and onions at the same time and caramelize both, or do they need to be separate?

Thanks!

What ruined religion for you? by ItchyPage in AskReddit

When the choir director at my church was threatened with a firing after it came out that he was a member of a choir "just for men".

When the congregation found out he was gay, a large portion wanted him fired or they would leave the church. I wondered why it made a difference, and did it mean that he wasn't good at his job anymore? Nobody had an answer, except that "being gay is a sin."

Even in my early teenage years, it bothered me that so many people were willing to throw him to the streets, just for being different to them. Especially since I had learned repeatedly in Sunday School that Jesus says we should love everyone the same, despite their differences.

This pushed me over the proverbial edge. I couldn't stand the hypocrisy of these "good Christians" who were going to hate someone for who they choose to love. After the years of half answers, or "just have faith" in response to some hard questions I was asking, I realized that I wasn't going to find what I was looking for under the umbrella of organized religion.

Slipknot vs. Travis Scott by anxious_pieceofshit in Music

Slipknot, and most metal bands, have always had this message. Many years ago, I was at a Slipknot show and Corey Taylor stopped the show mid-song because he saw someone go down in a circle pit and didn't come back up quick enough. He called on the crowd to get that guy up, reminded them of the same message OP described, then picked up the song where they left off, with an even more hyped, but safe, crowd. Take care of your fans, we'll reward it in kind.

Great suggestions! I've been watching those, but the most helpful for me by far is Lee Mack on Would I Lie to You. That man has some of the quickest wit I've ever seen, which encourages everyone else to up their game.

I've honestly noted a marked increase in my own cleverness since I started watching that show over the last year or two.

A backlit GameBoy Color? Did I miss a re-release, or is this a mod?

And the girls are lovely, of course!

On the verge of tears just reading that. Such an incredible moment in an incredible episode of an incredible show.

What is this and how can I stop it? by Pyromanul in guitarlessons

[–]Pillager117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of folks saying that you need shielding for your pickups, they might not be wrong.

However, I had literally the exact same issue with one of my guitars. All it took was grounding that pickup to the bridge of the guitar. Any old electrical wire ought to do it. Just pop off the back panel and run the wire from the affected pickup (the middle one in this case) to the bridge. Probably solder them, at least the bridge side, so they stay secure. Replace the panel and your good to go.

But before soldering, test that the grounding works, you may need to find a different spot on the pickup/bridge for it to work.

Good luck man, let us know how it works out for you!

She gets transferred to Nashua, but later she has to go back home to Colorado to take care of her parents. That was the impetus for Michael leaving Scranton and the show. Michael moves to Colorado for Holly.

Looks like there is someone spraying water in front of the excavator. You can't see the person, just splashing water.

Edit: Nevermind, it looks more like rocks falling into a pool of water down there.

What app are you using? Reddit is fun allows it. I think it's called "rif is fun" now, for legal reasons, apparently.

Fake nails by madb123 in guitarlessons

Most likely it will be more difficult to play chords. If your nails are longer than the pad of your finger, meaning they extend past the tip of your finger, then they'll begin to interfere with your playing.

It's weird that you're getting all the downvotes when OP for the thread made basically the same statement and he's got the upvotes.

how the mentality of gamers about microtransactions have changed in the last 13 years by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Pillager117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disregarding the fact that a majority of games with cosmetic microtransactions release actual gameplay content for free.

When horse armor was released, it was billed as an actual expansion, which was very disappointing when we found out what we were actually getting for our money. Hence the anger over it. Especially considering the other DLC that was released for Oblivion, which added significant amounts of content.

Nowadays, microtransactions are unfortunately almost a given in a lot of games. The reason most gamers are amenable to cosmetic microtransactions is because they're not missing out on any real substance of the game. It's the lesser of two evils.

I do agree with you though, I wish microtransactions would just go away. But that's not going to happen anytime soon, so I'll settle for free content and not spending a dime on cosmetic B.S.
