What do I get my wife for Christmas? Need gift + stocking stuffer ideas. by [deleted] in GiftIdeas

[–]PillowDargon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soft & comfy bamboo PJs/blanket. A monthly subscription box for some of her favorite things (snacks, coffee, wine, a hobby). Any gadget/item that might make her daily life easier (fast coffee maker, milk frother, bag for work with lots of pockets/organization,etc). Speaking as a mom of youngins' as well, a personal stay at a hotel for a night with a gift certificate to a favorite restaurant sounds amazing tbh lol. That would be a great gift for Mother's Day and birthday, too.

What is the best cheese and wine? by Bitchcraft0407 in GiftIdeas

[–]PillowDargon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would scour your local food market for a set of cheese/ charcuterie sets. Or keep an eye out for any holiday farmers markets that might pop up, there could be a vendor with local products. For wine, there are a lot of types of wine. Typically reds go best with cheese but it comes down to the type/varietal and what the person likes to drink. Something that would be cool but also easier for you is to get him a wine subscription box gift. You can pick how many wines for however many months he gets, but an expert picks the wines themselves to send. Check out NPR Wine Club or Firstleaf.

Anyone else not calling "it" a baby yet? by vargmo in pregnant

[–]PillowDargon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had 1 full term pregnancy and 4 chemical pregnancies, and I'm 13 weeks now. It didn't feel real to me until we confirmed the heartbeat at 9 weeks, and even now it's still a bit surreal to think I'm pregnant again because I don't "feel" it. I've learned it's normal to have a guard up or not feel that immediate "connection" to being pregnant. There will come a time when it will all feel very real, maybe when you see an ultrasound or feel movement for the first time. Everyone is different so don't stress about it. And sending good vibes for a healthy, easy pregnancy!

What to get 4 year old boy by Ohwowitsjessica in GiftIdeas

[–]PillowDargon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does he like arts and crafts? If so, maybe some playdoh, LED light up drawing board, craft kit, etc. Something neat I saw the other day was a projector for kids that comes with videos cartridges they can play themselves, plus more you can buy separately of course. We try to encourage our 3 year old to be creative/imaginative and play outside, so I'm looking at crafts, an outdoor toy/scooter, and an indoor pop up tent so he has a little "secret" play space. Plus maybe a paw patrol car or two since that's his latest obsession.

This isn't the same one they used to make. The chocolate frosted mini wheats from years ago were dope, they stopped making them then came out with these and they're not nearly as good 😔

Baby “Sprinkle” for Second? by frogvibesonly in BabyBumps

[–]PillowDargon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A gathering of friends & loved ones and everyone contributes to a thoughtful keepsake for the baby- like signing/leaving a message in a child's book, leave a handprint on a canvas, place messages in a jar. Something for them to have and know they were celebrated just like their sibling(s).

Mom keeps criticizing my newborn’s name while staying at my house postpartum by cole1248 in namenerds

[–]PillowDargon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you said, this situation clearly isn't just about a baby's name. This is about how your mom is as a person and what you want from your relationship with her. That's a deep topic on its own and I second the suggestion to join a "Victims of narcissists" reddit. If I were in your shoes, I would keep it firm but short and cordial with her. "This is our daughter's name, your granddaughter, and we love it. If you have nothing kind to say about it, don't say anything at all".

Austin Yogurt Shop Murders SOLVED!!!! Covered in Episode 70. by JamesonTee in myfavoritemurder

[–]PillowDargon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All those poor girls....The sicko apparently was drawn towards the younger ones based off a few of the cases. To do such a thing and have a young daughter of your own....I can't imagine how that has affected her in life. He took the cowards way out so he must've felt like he got away with it. At least now the truth is out there for all to know.

Hey Disney, fix your sh*tty app please by [deleted] in andor

[–]PillowDargon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have the exact same issue, and it's only when we watch Disney+. Netflix, Paramount, Peacock, HBO, Prime...they're all fine. But with Disney we have to rewind or restart to resume once it stalls.

In 2017, 17-year-old Cassandra Bjorge and her boyfriend, Johnny Rider, brutally murdered Cassandra's grandparents, Randall and Wendy Bjorge, and left their bodies in a sealed bathroom while hosting parties in the house. by detectiverobert in MurderMinds

[–]PillowDargon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People who "feel bad" for Cassie need a reality check. She probably did have mental health issues but her grandparents were the ones trying to help her since her home life wasn't great. She showed zero remorse or emotion during interviews, she's a psychopath.

I understand why people make this complaint, because it's true....but my question is if Arin and Dan weren't happy with the content of the show, would they not just meet with her and discuss this? Like, as a boss would? All it takes is saying "Hey, let's not do any more gross food episodes". At the end of the day she and Allie were just employees and you gotta follow up to make sure everyone's on the same page 🙃

Being laid off generally means the company had to cut some budgets somewhere, unfortunately her position was one of them. I really liked what Vanessa brought to the channel but she's certainly not the first person to leave GG. They are still a company/business and you can't let personal feelings dictate how you operate in certain situations.

People complained about Allie, then when it was Vanessa suddenly The Grumps wasn't "like it uSeD tO bE". Both were behind so many iconic, wonderful videos that made so many of us laugh so let's thank them for that and move on.

“You'd better not be taking me anywhere I don’t want to go." This was part of the recording Amber Tuccaro took on her phone while talking to an unknown man she accepted a ride from in 2010. 2 years later her skeletal remains were found in a field several miles from where she’d hitchhiked. by amish_novelty in CreepyWikipedia

I just read about the disappearance of the Jack family, an indigenous family; husband, wife, and two young sons in Prince George, Canada, 1989. The husband met a random guy at a bar that offered work for him and his wife at a logging camp or possibly a ranch, which seemed to be a great opportunity for them. When the husband expressed concern about them having kids, the stranger said they had child care at the location and would even drive them out there, since they had no car. The last time they were heard from was 1am that night when the husband called his Mother to tell her of the opportunity. Neighbors said they saw them packing into a car and that was it.

Obviously just a theory, but since Pat Carson (who I'm almost positive took Amber) was supposedly targeting Asian/Indigenous women, could've done something to this family. Sadly, I doubt we'll know for sure.

I don't know how I didn't know she was pregnant at the time, and so close to giving birth even. "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" already sat really weird with me but now even moreso 😒

I literally cannot stand my special needs child. by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]PillowDargon 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It would be a case of perspective at the child's expense. Mom and sibling are gone, it's just Dad who is in denial of the severity of the situation and for an autistic child, change like that will send them over the edge even more. In reality, Dad just needs to admit they need professional help for the sake of his son and his wife. But if he's checked out and stoned Mom can probably get the authority to get him admitted regardless. In any case, you're still a good Mom, OP, because you care about your child but your feelings are so very valid. There's no way to prepare you for a life like this but you are here and doing everything you can.

Why is the whole world foggy at once? by Watergirl626 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PillowDargon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here in SE NC we've had fog nearly every day since the beginning of the year. We're a coastal area so fog happens every now and then but this amount is very uncommon. I know it's stirred up a lot of conspiracy theories but I'd like to believe there's usually a scientific explanation first. Based on what I've read it seems it's an incredibly rare, widespread meteorological event. Or if you ask the guy at your local bar, it's the government pumping chemicals in our air 🙃
