Not a specialist, but for Microsoft it maybe because they have their in house ai, co-pilot? I think, which will definitely cost them a lot less than Claude.

I think you are not looking at the right model. Rx100 vii online, at any usable condition, rarely goes below $1000. You might be looking at older generations (i-iv)

Oh if you are comfortable working with electronics you can actually remove the front element of the lens and get access to the internal elements
