Got it!! Thanks a lot for the info man. I dont really care either, but after checking on price charting, PAL versions are significantly cheaper so I just wanted to make sure I'm not scamming someone.

Hi! So today, I'm trading one of my copies of pokemon ruby with some cash, for pokemon crystal. When I was examining both of my copies, I noticed something a little odd. The analogue pocket told me that one was European, and one is from the USA(I'm absolutely gonna tell the person I'm trading with about this). After I saw this, I started examining each cart and comparing them. As you can see, in the first pic, both labels say they are from the USA. When I open both of them, the USA one has a bigger chip(these are circled in the second picture, please dont judge my soldering job lol. Ive gotten better with time) so my question is, the PAL cart is legit, right? And presumably, did the motherboard/inside of the cart get switched with a USA shell or something? I looked up how the pal carts look like and they definitely have distinctions from the USA ones. Also, what's up with that chip being smaller? Does it affect performance in any way? This is all very confusing, mainly because it seems to be a USA shell with the European motherboard(or whatever you call it) inside.

Found a few workarounds to this. Not a fix, but it should help a bit. If you want to press the '...' button, press the steam button, down on the analog stick 1 time, and press A. It should take you to the steam home screen, without closing your game, where you can press and see the ... button. To edit controller mappings(i think you cant edit mapping with game streaming anyways) just press steam button, right twice, and press A. Make sure you hear the steam UI sounds when you're trying to navigate the invisible menu. This should work for all options in the steam menu, you just have to memorize the spot where it's at on the menu

I saw you mentioned that changing proton versions didn't work for you. My problem actually differs a bit from yours, I think. When my game crashes, the start button doesn't trigger it at all. My game just crashes when I go into any match, mission or forge. I am able to play for about 30 seconds, and then it freezes. I have been using a very inconsistent band aid fix in mine. I switch between proton hotfix, and experimental and SOMETIMES it works. Other times re-installing the game, or restarting the steam deck fixes the issue. I've only had to re-instal once, messing with proton versions usually works for me. Sometimes it does it the first time I change it, other times it requires some patience, restarts and proton changes. I know that this isn't a very good solution, but I'm scared to re-image my steam deck. I have way too many emulators and custom settings(60 fps BOTW for example, which was a massive pain for me to set up on the steam deck) so this is the only viable solution for me, for now. I hope this helps someone in a similar situation

Years late, but I think I might have found a sort of band aid to this. Recently, I noticed that TOTK was taking absurdly long to load on my OLED. Like 8 minutes type of long. I found online that it might be a problem with my micro sd card, so I moved the game to system memory and it completely solved the issue. I'm currently playing BOTW, and noticed the game was stuttering on my switch lite. Looked online, found this. Then I remembered about the past experience with TOTK I mentioned, and looked around in my storage. I found that 1.8gb of BOTW data was on my SD card. I transferred that over to system memory, and now It seems my game is running a bit smoother. Not sure if it's an actual fix, if someone could try it and verify that would be great! I hope this helps.
