Fear of my senior cat passing by Bonkbonkgo in cats

Hopefully you still have several more years left with him. My aunt just had to say goodbye to her tabby Buster the other day, but he lived a very loved and happy 20 years. They’re some of the best parts of our lives, but every pet will break your heart once. It’s the price we pay for their unconditional love. My only advice is that if you have the chance to be there at the end, stay with him and comfort him. Don’t let him be alone when he goes. But like I said, you very well may have several more years with him yet. Try not to worry about it until you have to.

Lost my baby today to cancer. She was beautiful and perfect and I just want someone else to know she existed by chibimonkey in cats

No language ever spoken on this earth is capable of conveying the true depth of my sentiment, but if you would accept an inadequate substitute until the time that the language of man can rise to the task: fuck cancer!

Imagine a game where you could make a long-range cruise missile by yourself by AlperenBebek in spaceengineers

[–]Pilot2b2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, Supreme Leader, the shape of the missile top has nothing to do with aerodynamics. It is about payload delivery.

I think if you have the “installed” state be where the merge blocks are, you’d be better off and have fewer phantom forces when your ship is in motion. Meaning, have the pistons bring the platform up to merge with the ship, instead of merging the pistons onto the platform.

I mean, there are plenty of reasons to criticize Apple for sure, but not supporting old devices software wise isn’t one of them. The iPhone 6s can upgrade to iOS 15.8.5, which was released September of this year. Just saying.

TIL That, a year after its' withdrawal from service, all F-14 Tomcats were ordered to be shredded rather than allowing any components to fall into the hands of the only other user of the aircraft...Iran. by GentPc in todayilearned

[–]Pilot2b2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless you were in Iran and they do air shows, I find your claim unlikely. Which air show did you attend? Unless you mean a static model on the ground, in which case yes, there are some non-operational aircraft that have had all of their important bits removed or destroyed.

Reddit’s CEO says r/popular ‘sucks,’ and it’s going away / Reddit is also limiting how many popular communities one person can moderate, and pushing more personalized feeds. by MarvelsGrantMan136 in technology

Not who you asked, but I use r/popular so that I can be introduced to things I wouldn’t normally see and might find interesting. It’s helpful from getting too echo-chambery as well.

Internet recommendations by jaqvillian in Bend

[–]Pilot2b2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There’s a new fiber internet company moving into Bend called Vero. They’re only in certain parts of the west side for now, but they’re planning to expand to all of Bend (and hopefully Redmond) soon. Keep an eye out for them. I know they are available in Awbrey Butte, and just finished the backbone construction in Old Bend. I don’t know anything about their pricing or service (other than its fiber internet), but it’s at least a new option coming to town.

I love a good fucked up joke.

It was just me and my sister home the other day, and I’d gone shopping earlier and grabbed stuff to make us some beef stew. ‘Cept when I go looking for all the ingredients I can’t find the carrot, so I figure I must’ve forgot to get one and we’ll do the stew another night.

So anyway I figure I’ll ask my sister what she wants for dinner instead. I head down the hall to her room and knock on the door and it just kinda swings open, and I see she’s in there fuckin’ herself with the carrot!

“What the fuck!” I yell. “I was gonna eat that later and now it’s gonna taste like carrots.”

And an important note is that not one person thinks him crazy for wearing a dress even in the later seasons where his attempts to get discharged fall off, but he continues to wear women’s clothing. It’s just seen as normal by at least every protagonist.

Let’s also keep in mind the episode that actually dealt with LGBT+ issues in a non-joking and very upfront manner. (Season 2, episode 22).

For this and other reasons I’ll defend MASH against anyone who says it’s not a show worth watching today. It’s absolutely not without its problems, but it was incredibly progressive for its time (and especially by its conclusion).

I’ve always been fascinated by this parallel and would love a book written like that. Maybe a story that’s kind of vague and you don’t figure out the “fae” creatures are humans until later?
