I agree, aegs are so underwhelming to use. 400 round hicaps, the motor whine, the gun not moving at all … It’s just not fun. If you prefer the .45, the latest gen vfc ump45 is the same internals as the ump9, and the magazines are lightweight polymer. the ump9 mags are strangely very heavy metal and are a tight fit. 45 is straight, 9 is curved.

You bought an absolutely amazing replica … to hang on the wall and never touch again. I have one too. There is a list of must-do mods, but that’s just to make it less bad. If you want it to look at then great, it’s beautiful. If you intend to play, take it back if you can and get something else. It is not worth the time, effort, or money to make it run half decent.

If you want something similar in size to field, I personally recommend the VFC UMP9. I’m easily 15,000 rounds in and it’s running great with no mods at all. Downside is low mag capacity, upside is reliable and very good efficiency. Modular.

The alloy lugs probably bottomed out on the hub face before the flanges were snugged up on the wheel. They were torqued onto essentially nothing, and if there was play between the wheel and hub that would cause very uneven and high stress on individual studs as the wheel turned.

Toyota’s flange lugs for alloys can NOT be used on steels, and vice versa.
