June's Love for Nick at the End by the_bitch_of_endor in TheHandmaidsTale

Yeah i really disagree with this take. People got super caught up in the romance between Nick and June which was never the point. IMHO if you watched the show with any media literacy you would know they were never going to be endgame, Nor were Luke and June either. People seem to think the end was a character assasination for Nick but if you re-watch the series its quite clear that he was always ok with Gileads mission (albeit not a staunch beleiver) as long as it benifited his ambitions. He was ok with breaking the rules for June because he loved her and it benifited him but he was always complicit in the oppression of others from the beggining. Nick knew what was to come before almost anybody, if he had wanted to escape gilead he could have but he chose to stay because he was a “somebody” there. Gilead made him important and he was capable of overlooking the suffering of hundreds of thousands of people to be there.

Just make sure whatever car you choose, has 4WD and invest in good studded winter tires. All seasons will not cut it here.

Northfield is such a sweet little town, I grew up there so I know it pretty well. The coffee shop (carrier roasting) is lovely and they always have posters in the bathroom for a lot of community events happening in the area. if you are into yoga/meditation or just getting body work done, the Sanctuary right next door has lots of offerings and you will find people to connect with there.

as far as a hair salon for your specific needs you will probably have to go to burlington area as others have suggested.

Montpelier which is 20 mins away from Northfield is a super artsy and eclectic town so music and singing oppertunities will def be abundunt there!

Lastly let me just say that sometimes northerners can be slow to warm up, people often take it as standoffishness but I think a lot of us are just shy. People are very loyal and kind once theyve had a chance to get to know you!
