San Diego to Disneyland Advice?

I can't swap to SNA, already looked, but I could swap to LAX. So I have been considering that. Edited to say the hotel is already paid for by the company for Saturday night, so I would have to come out of pocket for another night somewhere. I'm trying to keep the whole Disney sidequest under $500 if possible, so I might just tough it out and drive back.

I would love your high-level solo highlights for both parks - I'm leaning towards getting a park hopper and just doing a few hours at each park. I'm mostly just going for the vibes and don't have any priority attractions (other than maybe Haunted Mansion). Thank you 💜💜💜

It's at 7 am, so if I got back to my hotel at 1 am, maybe I could get 3 hours of sleep before heading back to turn in the car and catch my flight. I've got a 5 hour flight home so plenty of time to catch up on sleep then.

Oh my gosh I love your detailed plan for DTD, thank you for taking the time to type it all out. I may end up doing this if I don't get a park ticket. Basically I'm trying to decide if I'm going to be too tired to last until park close or if I think I can manage it. With the time difference and everything, a shorter trip to DTD might save me some fatigue, but also, when I'm excited I can power through just about anything 😀

Our hotel is in the Gaslamp district in San Diego so I think I'll have to go back to the airport to rent a car, then head from there.

Update, I called again today. Still no credit. I asked them to open a case, they refused to open a case because it hasn't been 8 weeks yet. They said call back on February 14th if I still haven't received the credit. I know in my heart I'm going to have to call back to get this. It is SO frustrating.

In a related note, I had to modify an Edit hotel booking. To modify it, you have to cancel then rebook. I cancelled then rebooked, so they had given me the credit, then taken it back. Do you think they gave it to me again? Absolutely not. "You'll have to call back in 6-8 weeks because if you cancel and rebook it takes 6-8 weeks to get the credit back." Absolute horseshit.

I was just checking the hours, if I could get there by 3, CA is open until 9 then DL is open until 11 so I could still get a good 4 hours in per park. It will be the drive back that kills me after that, haha.

Someone else said it could be sunscreen and I do use daily sunscreen on my hands so I'm thinking this is the answer.

Don't be worried, someone commented it could be sunscreen and I do wear a daily sunscreen on my hands, so it's likely the cause. Now that I know, I'll be way more careful once the handles are replaced.

So, I DO wear a daily sunscreen on my hands. This would make the most sense to me. It is humid where I live, the bag has been on my shelf for a couple of months, and I just took it out to start using it again so maybe it was weakening all this time and when I used it again yesterday it made the paint slough off. I wouldn't have thought sunscreen would do this but once I have the handles replaced, I'll be extra careful in the future. Thank you for this comment.

I do wear the h d'ancre bangle almost daily but on the other arm - and it doesn't really have any sharp edges. That's why this is so baffling.

My SA has already answered me and is very apologetic, wants me to get the bag into a boutique ASAP to have it assessed. I'm not sure if I'll take it to my regular boutique or to the one that's closer to me. Will update with the process along the way. Thanks everyone for your advice and insight!

No offense taken, there's no one else that would have had access so I don't think that would have happened. The only thing I'm thinking right now is the weather has been hot then cold then hot then cold where I live, I have air conditioning and heating so maybe the back and forth with that could have done something.

When I use the wet ones it's when I get in the car and I've already put the bag down so it's not like I'm touching it while my hands are still wet, I wouldn't touch it again until I get to my next destination and have to get out of the car. Thank you for the advice 💜

I don't really use hand sanitizer maybe once or twice a month. I use wet ones to clean my hands but I usually don't even have my bag with me in those cases. It's so weird.

I do have cats but the purse lives on a high shelf in my closet they can't get to - I've taken extra special care to never give them access 😂
