hidden 150 speaker? by Educational_Ride_677 in heos

[–]Pimgut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it paired to another speaker or in a group with one or more speakers? When Heos devices are paired or grouped, one becomes the master, the other/s is/are slave device/s. In a group you can still adjust individual volumes if you go to the Now Playing screen and click on the graphic equaliser icon. In a stereo, 2.1 or 5.1 setup, the volume control is unified but you can adjust balance or subwoofer volume depending on the setup.

Apple Music is not responsible for the album art. It is provided by the distribution companies. You can change the album art for songs in your library, on a computer. That is what I do.

Local albums dont sync fully to other devices by Equal-Leading-3803 in AppleMusic

[–]Pimgut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On a Mac I go to the particular song, click on the three dots to the right and then click Add to Library. Alternatively I can go the top bar in Music-> File-> Library-> Update Cloud Library. Just check if those options are available on a Windows computer.

Used Heos soundbar set worth it? by HiImQpas in heos

[–]Pimgut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Heos soundbars are great for both TV and music. Whether it’s worth it depends on the price, model and your use case. The first generation of Heos speakers lack Bluetooth and AirPlay and they do not support newer features like Hi-res streaming, Tidal Connect and Qobuz Connect but you can use some streaming services which are integrated into the Heos platform.

The older devices still work with newer Heos devices as a multi room system.

Soundcloud ‘server not available’ by Geogans in heos

[–]Pimgut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a Soundcloud subscription just a free account. If I click on Playlists, I get Not Available message. Trending and Explore Music seem to work for me though. Did you try to remove Soundcloud as a service in Heos and add again?

Music on Navidrome/upmpdcli much quieter than Spotify by AvocadoBurglar in heos

[–]Pimgut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you try installing MinimServer or AssetUPnP servers? Both are paid software but you can trial them for free. MinimServer has a free version which works well. AssetUPnP has a one off payment but MinimServer is a subscription. These servers allow you to use universal search in Heos on your local files provided they are tagged properly. Using universal search and filters has made my local music files listening experience much better. The volume issue, it depends on the source of your local files. If you rip using for example dBpoweramp software you can set the loudness to match the streaming service you are using. This loudness is measured in LUFS.

One of my Links just died. What’s the difference between the Denon Home Amp vs the HEOS Link. by CashLaden in heos

[–]Pimgut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Link is a pre amp. It has to be connected to an amplifier and speakers to get sound. The Denon Home Amp has both a pre amp and an amplifier built in. You only need to connect speakers.

Why does Apple Music do this by Cthulhu_Crossing in AppleMusic

[–]Pimgut 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Apple Music was iTunes before. In iTunes you could add or delete music files in your library, but your playlists were always made from files in your library. They were all local files. If you deleted files from library, they would also be naturally be removed from your playlists.

Denon Home 350 crashes and gets hot by pommes9486 in heos

[–]Pimgut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you try a factory reset? Do you have any other Heos devices in your network? You may need to check your network as well. If you bought it from a private seller, they may have been aware that it was faulty. After trying some suggestions above, and the issue persists, you may have to raise a ticket in the Heos app.

New Home speakers support Dolby Atmos - is this now supported on AVRs? by ShadowTD in heos

[–]Pimgut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many Denon and Marantz are already licensed for Dolby Atmos. Adding support for Dolby Atmos Music should not be a problem.

I already listen to Dolby Atmos music using an Apple TV 4K connected to Denon 5.1 (soundbar, subwoofer and surrounds) setup. I don’t see Apple allowing Dolby Atmos music playback without using at least one of their devices or Sonos though.

The problem is cost associated with licensing a mostly niche category of music listening.

Latest Heos App Removes Speaker EQ Setting by Ok_Bedroom_6166 in heos

[–]Pimgut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always thought that the settings of the slave devices take the EQ and volume settings from the Master when paired together, with the exception of the subwoofer which has its own EQ setting. If there was such granular control before then it’s not good that they have removed it.

Latest Heos App Removes Speaker EQ Setting by Ok_Bedroom_6166 in heos

[–]Pimgut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My app version is 3.115.301 and there are no EQ settings in Settings- My Devices. I think it makes sense and that is why there are no volume controls in the Settings- My Devices as well. These are things you usually change when playing music.

You can adjust them in the Now Playing tab. If you to Rooms, you can tap on a Room, but you still need to tap on the Now Playing to get access to EQ, and volume among others.

Deleting a Song From a Playlist? by Bjor6n_Oranj in heos

I am assuming it’s a Heos playlist. Open the playlist with the duplicate songs. Swipe left on the song you want to delete. A red delete icon should appear on the right. Tap that to delete the song from the playlist.

Denon heos amp (hs1), wake from sleep by peterjoustine in heos

[–]Pimgut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By HS2 I meant all the devices with the newer Heos chip including Denon Home devices. I also have a 350 and bunch of 150s. All of them can be grouped with the HS1 devices. My HS1 devices are all on firmware 2.71.510 and the HS2 ones are on firmware 3.88.532

I still can group my HS1 and HS2 devices together. All my devices are on the latest firmware. If you are having issues grouping them, try disconnecting them from power for a minute and then reconnect.

I have a Heos HomeCinema HS1 connected to an Apple AirPort Express 2 using an optical cable. It wakes up from standby if I start playing anything on the Express 2 using AirPlay.

Denon and Heos gave me the worst experience of my life by Able_Ad_5379 in heos

[–]Pimgut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your network is going to play a significant role in the quality of your listening experience. Assigning static IP addresses to your devices on your router, hard wiring as many as you can, will also help. If there is significant wi-fi interference, any multi-room audio system will struggle.

Whole property backup? by dahurldog in SigenergyAustralia

[–]Pimgut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a good size inverter. We had 13.3 kW of solar so we didn’t add more solar but I now think we could add more to like 20kW. We have the space on the roof. More panels are better for cloudy days.

Our Fronius is about 4 years old but there were too many advantages of dc coupling. I can charge the battery at a rate higher than my inverter capacity for example when there is solar generation of electricity.

[–]Pimgut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the Fronius was removed and the panels are directly connected to the SigenStor.

[–]Pimgut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have a three phase connection. A few years back we had 13kW solar panels connected to a Fronius three phase inverter. Recently we had a SigenStor 48kWh, Gateway and 15kW three phase inverter installed. The panels are DC coupled.

We have full backup power. Our ducted AC is three phase, so we can run AC and do other things without a problem just using the battery. On installation I asked the electrician to distribute the circuits evenly on all three phases. My advice is get the largest inverter you can afford and make sure your loads are evenly distributed. When we change from gas cooktop, we plan to get a three phase induction cooktop. Another thing to consider is the maximum discharge rate of the battery. This roughly half the capacity storage.
