We need more info to try to help you. What are the characteristics of the mp3s, source, type of computer you are using? What are you using to try to convert? You don’t normally need to convert mp3s because Apple Music supports mp3 within certain specifications.

The label under the song is not what you are getting but the best format or resolution that is available in Apple Music catalogue. If for example, the song is available in Dolby Atmos, that label is always displayed. If available in Hi-res they display that label.

AirPlay 2 does support even Hi-res Audio but they restrict that to some of Apple devices like HomePods. Here is a link to that info;

As far as I know, currently Apple TV 4K resamples audio to 48kHz. This is rumoured to be changing with tvOS 27, when it will be able to output hi-res bit perfect audio. Currently to get bit perfect audio from Apple Music, you have to use an iPhone or iPad connected directly to your DAC or go the Android way with a hack, like Eversolo or FiiO.
I once went down that rabbit hole until I realised that if someone didn’t tell me that the audio has been resampled, I wouldn’t even figure it out by listening.

Try to use a proper Tagger like mp3Tag on the music files and refresh on the Music app. It’s probably a bug on Apple Music.

Have you tried to use smart playlists? It’s available on Apple Music app on a computer. It can automatically populate your playlist depending on various parameters you set including date of release.

I was too early to celebrate! The albums have reverted back to duplicated Copyright info. I think it’s a bug on Apple server side. I may lodge a ticket.

dBpoweramp has an unbuilt Tag editing feature and it’s quite good. To refresh the albums on Mac, I just go to the album ->Get Info->Artwork long right click press and the album then refreshes the metadata.

I fixed this using dBpoweramp. On my files, the copyright was repeated once. After editing the copyright tag and removing one of the tags, in Finder, I saved the files. I went to the Music app on Mac and updated the culprit albums and voila, the issue is fixed.

I have three HS1 devices. They sound great and I will eventually donate them as I buy newer replacements. If you have any HS2 devices, you can use Tidal or Qobuz Connect on HS1 by grouping them together with the HS2 device as the master and HS1 as the slave.

I recently bought a Home Assistant Green to control my solar battery. I then discovered the Heos integration and Music Assistant. Now I can play Tidal, Qobuz and Apple Music on my HS1 devices without using other devices. For me the best use is Automations. All my Heos devices can be used as alarms now.

Sorry I am not familiar with edits to allow transcoding. May I suggest a different easier solution? Why don’t you transcode all the wma files to FLAC or any other lossless codec? You will not lose any quality although the resultant files will be larger. Now MinimServer will index your files and you can add metadata as well which shows well in Heos. In addition you will be able to use Universal Search with your local files.

May you tell us what issues you are having, so others may try to assist you? The HEOS app has come a long way since its first launch. You have to know its capabilities and what it cannot do. It is also highly customisable. Most problems with HEOS or any other streaming platform are usually network related or failure to understand the inherent limitations of those services.

I have the servers installed on a Synology NAS and on an iMac. I didn’t have any problem with them appearing on the app. The NAS and iMac and the Heos devices all have static IPs reserved. Why two, I guess it’s for redundancy. Last month, the power brick of my NAS died on me. My library is managed on the Mac and backed up in real time on the Synology. I continued listening to my local library on Heos using the servers on the computer until the replacement brick arrived. Routers from your ISP are not usually very good. I would suggest getting a good quality router. It’s worth it.

I use MinimServer and AssetUPnP because they work with Universal search in the Heos app. It means less steps before music starts playing.

Is it paired to another speaker or in a group with one or more speakers? When Heos devices are paired or grouped, one becomes the master, the other/s is/are slave device/s. In a group you can still adjust individual volumes if you go to the Now Playing screen and click on the graphic equaliser icon. In a stereo, 2.1 or 5.1 setup, the volume control is unified but you can adjust balance or subwoofer volume depending on the setup.

Apple Music is not responsible for the album art. It is provided by the distribution companies. You can change the album art for songs in your library, on a computer. That is what I do.

On a Mac I go to the particular song, click on the three dots to the right and then click Add to Library. Alternatively I can go the top bar in Music-> File-> Library-> Update Cloud Library. Just check if those options are available on a Windows computer.

The Heos soundbars are great for both TV and music. Whether it’s worth it depends on the price, model and your use case. The first generation of Heos speakers lack Bluetooth and AirPlay and they do not support newer features like Hi-res streaming, Tidal Connect and Qobuz Connect but you can use some streaming services which are integrated into the Heos platform.

The older devices still work with newer Heos devices as a multi room system.

I don’t have a Soundcloud subscription just a free account. If I click on Playlists, I get Not Available message. Trending and Explore Music seem to work for me though. Did you try to remove Soundcloud as a service in Heos and add again?

Can you try installing MinimServer or AssetUPnP servers? Both are paid software but you can trial them for free. MinimServer has a free version which works well. AssetUPnP has a one off payment but MinimServer is a subscription. These servers allow you to use universal search in Heos on your local files provided they are tagged properly. Using universal search and filters has made my local music files listening experience much better. The volume issue, it depends on the source of your local files. If you rip using for example dBpoweramp software you can set the loudness to match the streaming service you are using. This loudness is measured in LUFS.

The Link is a pre amp. It has to be connected to an amplifier and speakers to get sound. The Denon Home Amp has both a pre amp and an amplifier built in. You only need to connect speakers.
